i wonder if Apple will get rid of @mac.com address. Mine is perfect since I got on that soon as it was available. Beta testing itools and MobileMe days was fun back then.
I want my mac.com address back.

I had one, I still have the same email address at me.com and icloud.com, but because I didn't do the brief paid mac.com thing I lost my mac.com address. It still works to log in, but doesn't work for email.

Why would anyone want to use an iCloud email address? I hope there is an option. to delete and remove from my account
I use it occasionally. I mean, I can create anything at any of my domains with a quick ssh into my server and editing my virtual file and "postmap virtual" "postfix reload" but sometimes I just use the icloud address. when I'm put on the spot and don't have time to create a new role account for a particular vendor.

I Lucked out. I paid my @mac.com primary for all Apple services. i can send email with either @Mac, @me, @icloud and received from any sent to me in Apple mail with just @mac.com addresss Set up.

It's great news. I was waiting for such option for years (and actually lost any hope Apple would allow it). I finally don't see e-mail address which I hate neither in Apple Account settings nor in E-mail iCloud service.

This is not something I care about. I’m happy with my primary email address. What would be a huge move would be to merge two accounts together. So many of us have iTunes accounts that existed before MobileMe existed and have long-time purchase history with those old accounts. But those are not iCloud accounts and therefore can only be used as purchasing accounts. Give us the opportunity to merge that iTunes accounts with our iCloud accounts so we only need one account.

The huge drawback comes when subscribing to an Apple One plan. I have a 2TB iCloud storage account attached to my primary iCloud account and share it with the family. The Apple One account that is attached to my old iTunes account comes with storage included, but that storage is completely useless to me because I cannot assign it to my primary iCloud account. It essentially goes unused because it isn’t practical to assign it to a family member either since they’d lose access to the shared 2TB storage. Why can’t I add that storage to my existing storage plan? The Apple One settings allow me to assign that 200GB of storage to everyone but my other account.

Ever since they introduced custom mail domains I was kind of hoping for this to be added eventually. Would love to switch over completely to my custom family name mail address.

I guess next step is improving iCloud mail syncing of read states? Absolute nightmare that it does not immediately update read states and remove notifications when the competition, like Outlook etc., have instant sync.

This is great news, as I've been wanting to change my primary @icloud(dot)com address for quite some time.

But just to make sure:
  1. Will this (soon-to-be-ex) primary @icloud(dot)com email address still be available or is it permanently delete when replacing it?
  2. Will the aliases still be available if I eventually delete the (soon-to-be-ex) primary @icloud(dot)com address?

Updates are not pushed but they are fetched periodically at least. It’s huge improvement in 18.x iOS release anyway, isn’t it?
It seems like iOS is relase of “dreams come true” for me: modification of main e-mail address, Mail badge update for deleted/read emails, limiting access to contacts per app. All of these features were reported by me as expected many times in the past.

After 12 years or so, it would be nice if Mail could finally send emails that are displayed
in Arial font instead of Times font when they arrive in Windows Outlook
.

And I'd like it if, after 12 years or so, Mail could finally send emails in which
images arrive as attachments when they arrive in Windows Outlook instead of always as embedded thumbnails that can't be enlarged.

I know there are stupid workarounds for the latter.

For years I've been using Airmail [as workaround], which crashes every time after an email with an S/MIME signature goes out.

I can't use a cloudmail service. For legal reasons.

One of my biggest worries about new iOS updates is that they take away the option of signing in to different accounts for iCloud and AppStore purchases. I’m sure there will be a loud vocal minority of people if it happens, but it’s something I can see them doing.

Just let us merge accounts already!

It’s never going to happen with purchase content with the movie studios, etc.

About @mac.com

Earlier this week I tried this on my iPad which is running the latest dev version
Wanted to switch my primary firstnamelastname/@mac.com apple ID to f.lastname/@mac.com alias which is shorter and cleaner to me
But I got an error.
There a thread right here about this

RayBan Meta got me somewhat hyped. Still sorta afraid to wear wifi and electronics so close to brain. For similar reason I don't have AW too, could have got gen 1 for literally free but disliked the idea of wearing something I will use only to trigger camera in night mode
