Only the three dots, not the circle. It has a name: ellipsis
Maybe “circlipsis” 🤪Only the three dots, not the circle.
Yep, iOS 18 should be entering "maintenance" mode, so at least we shouldn't suffer from new bugs. When a minor version update includes only a few minor new features (along with bug fixes and/or performance optimizations), those new features were usually targeted for the previous version. Seemingly minor nature of 18.5 is an indication of it being the final minor update to 18.
Sorry, fat fingers.I wish I could agree but I do not at all know what you’re talking about.
Edit: figured it out
I mean, some ellipses are circles.Maybe “circlipsis” 🤪
this menu is getting longer... why don't they just put all the Mail settings in this three dots menu?In the Mail app, you can now easily turn off contact photos directly within the app, by tapping on the circle with three dots in the top-right corner.
More like modern MicrosoftSo, the nag-screen for buying something from them got bigger and there's a new toggle to easier switch something unpopular off... Apple kind of feels like Microsoft in the 00s, lately
If anything, this article removed a feature. The beta 1 article originally listed (and still does) the "group by sender" button, and I corrected them and said it was in earlier iOS 18 versions lol. That was for the first beta. This article updates you on what changed as of the third beta (i.e. not much).
My point was nothing new was added/changed, so it seems redundant to post the same information twice. In fact, the article today about the latest beta already has this info also:That was for the first beta. This article updates you on what changed as of the third beta (i.e. not much).
It’s so annoying that Apple’s apps (many of which are the default apps) are now buried in the in the same section as every installed 3rd party app.If only that were true
When I saw this article saying changes in the Settings app I was hoping they reverted and made it less annoying to get to app settings, especially the default apps. Your solution would be a good compromise.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was an effect of the EU’s attentions: they now treat their apps the same as everyone else’s in the Settings app. It’s so annoying that Apple’s apps (many of which are the default apps) are now buried in the in the same section as every installed 3rd party app.
Alas, Apple’s ongoing credibility destruction process basically results from the above, i.e., an annoyingly forced reliance on content and services as opposed to what they have always been good with: seamless integration between hardware and software.More prominent advertising in the settings app! Exciting.

When walking family through tech stuff I'll call it the "UFO button". 🛸🤷♂️“The circle with the three dots” is a UI feature looking for a name.
Actually, there’s over 1000 changes in the code between 18.5 beta 2 and 18.5 beta 3. Just because the UI didn’t change doesn’t mean nothing did.Alas, Apple’s ongoing credibility destruction process basically results from the above, i.e., an annoyingly forced reliance on content and services as opposed to what they have always been good with: seamless integration between hardware and software.
Now it’s all about pushing you to subscribe to some less-than-optimal crap instead of just offering great products.
