iOS 18 Battery Life Thread

How long did you keep it on Low Power Mode? Also though I got my battery health questions addressed by a fellow AW7 titanium collector/ex- :apple: employee (in two separate threads), y'all here and an Apple Store specialist, how long did it take for your 15 Pro to drop from 100% to below its maximum capacity? Mines went from 100% to 95% in such a short 3-4 week span since April 29.
 
I had it on LPM the whole time.
I don’t know why it drained that much, I did use it more than I usually do, mostly the camera because I was on a festival.
Today will be day 2 of it.

Battery health is now at 90%, I can’t remember when it dropped from 100, but I‘ve given up on the whole battery thing, battery packs are my new friends …

That’s precisely why.

Recording video drains the battery quickly, especially if you record it for an extended period.

I’m relieved that my battery health hasn’t dropped as severely as the 80s as I owned my 15 pro for 5 months. In case this happens, I purchased another MagSafe power bank and replaced all the 8-10-year-old power banks that couldn’t charge my Apple Watch and iPhone fully anymore.

As my friend mentioned, the iPhone batteries since the iPhone 12 have been redesigned differently from those of previous iPhones, primarily to enhance their ability to retain maximum capacity and charge capacity. Additionally, the modem and processor on your iPhone also influence power draw and peak performance, depending on how you use your device.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max went down again 😬

in under one month from 94% to 89% !!!

That’s way to fast in my eyes…

Thinking about going to the Apple Store near to my location and ask them to check the iPhone if it’s somehow faulty, maybe it indeed is faulty.

My warranty expires on July 1st.
So what do you guys think or advise?

I don’t think it’s normal behaviour of my iPhone 15 PM to drop that fast in battery health.

Go to the Apple Store or just leave it as it is?

Was at the Genius Bar

So with the battery everything is fine, he said, if it has gone down again expectedly no idea in the middle of July even further extreme, then I am registered with my serial number that I was there today and then they do the battery change for free, because I have said within the warranty! He also showed me that my battery was behaving completely normally - with graphs of my usage. His 15 Pro is also at 90% with 400 cycles And he also explained to me, because I have more power in the chip and things like 120hz display etc. that the battery ages more as a result - I had the feeling that I was being taken seriously. Oh and now the 89% should stay for a while - maybe 2-3% less in the near future

Another situation , I had a 13 pro max for 4 years and for over a year the battery life always showed 87 percent, I sold it to a friend who now uses my old phone and the battery life is still 87 percent.So I can say that 89 or 87 percent of the balance can "hold on" for longer time 😁

I thought of consulting an Apple Genius 🧑‍💻 at the Apple Store bout this too despite that I did all the things I did to preserve the battery life such as minimising MagSafe to only if you don’t need to fast charging your iPhone, charge limits and other things that I noted in the thread.

@Stiille bruv 👊 all the things you said about your Genius Bar visit and how the Genius checked out your iPhone 15 Pro Max- quite literally what my ex Apple employee friend told me when he spoke at my panellist conference for a school club event. The genius’s explanation bout the chips working hard as they do quite reminisces about how the processors were designed to work with the maximum capacity of the iPhone’s battery. Especially power drain and pull, which our batteries would degrade at one point due to certain conditions in iOS that would cause this behaviour to happen.

My iPhone 15 pro now on 4 weeks on iOS 18.5, is still on 95% maximum capacity without any changes to the charge limit, same as 2-3 weeks ago.
 
Granted there's a heatwave in Europe, but all of a sudden my iPad M1 Pro 12.9 has started dropping % like no tomorrow. It's been a while since I updated it, had the few days of extra drain Apple devices seem to to get and it's been stable ever since. Suddenly it's getting hot upper left side edge and using way more battery for everyday tasks. I've force closed all aps..sue me Apple...left it and then done a hadde reboot. There's no indication in the battery app which app uses the extra cycles...but something is going on behind the scenes.

Doesn't seem to charge properly or charging at all. You using the same charger as before? Pocket lint in the chargingport?
Give the iPhone a restart and try again, you'll quickly see if it works.
 
Would it make sense to update to 18.5 right now or still hold on the 17.7.1 if I'm on a 13 pro max?
