It does now; both in Voice Memos and directly within the Notes app.But no transcription for voicenotes. You know the thing with which you make notes with your voice.

The following call may be recorded for training and quality purposes… 😂😁They already tell you that all calls are recorded for whatever reason.
Ah yeah. I didn’t think of this. 😃You’ve never met a new person, don’t recall their name, and then don’t know how to find their contact info? Happens to me all the time.
Most end users are likely to recall other attributes of the contact record, and search that way "name of the company" , "job title" etc. I don't know of anyone, outside of a data analyst in an enterprise setting, whose primary means of identifying contacts in a list is by order of record creation. What if you don’t remember their name?? How do you find them??
That's good. But I'm sure Apple wants to cover their behinds regardless, so you'll have to notify the other party of the recorded call.Legal in all of Canada (one party consent) so at least being geographically aware could help here. Otherwise voice memos it is still.
You’re so delusional it’s hilarious.iOS 18: So many new features, so few bug fixes.
Long-standing iOS bugs (from many previous iOS versions) will not be fixed in iOS 18.
With more new features than ever before, iOS 18 will likely be the buggiest release in iOS history.
Tim Cook is a greedy corporate scumbag who is far more concerned about making money than providing customers a user-friendly user experience.
iOS 18 will still include a user-unfriendly Microsoft-pioneered flat design GUI instead of a user-friendly Apple-pioneered skeuomorphic design GUI.
Cook's most colossal failure of a decision was firing Scott Forstall. iOS was a far superior under Forstall's leadership. Forstall's masterpiece iOS 6 was the pinnacle of smartphone operating systems.
What are you talking about? Are you saying CEO at Microsoft, Google, FB, and all major companies in USA are not making money? You should probably learn about Tim C, where he comes from before trying to post first with useless comments.iOS 18: So many new features, so few bug fixes.

Let’s hope there is an option to turn off notifying others of recording.
Yet other places it is legal, so there better be that option. For example, in Canada (at least my province) it's perfectly legal to do so as long as one party agreesthat would be illegal in CA and probably other places, so, there better not be that option
And it’s been available on android for years too (though without the notification feature).By offering call recording?.. This has been a thing long before smartphones existed.
SIM cards???? My iPhone no longer uses physical cards.
Who gives? This is not copying android. If that's how it works android is nothing by an iOS copy and you know it.And it’s been available on android for years too (though without the notification feature).
Most likely the reason. For example, in 🇦🇺, it is illegal to record a phone call, conversation, video call etc without both parties consent. In Canada, I am allowed to legally record a call that I am a party of, even if the others are not made aware, as long as it is not for commercial purposes. If I am making a call to someone on behalf of a company, the other party should be notified. Apple is probably covering themselves here from liability just in case.
Which means there will be no way to use local SIMs while travelling to China because they do not support eSIM, and unlikely ever will.I think that means seamlessly switch eSIMS, not physical SIMs, as all iphones now have an eSIM regardless of whether or not they have a physical sim card slot too (and btw seeing that the latest ipad pros are eSIM only, that might even mean the coming iphones are going eSIM only worldwide except China).
I do not get the icon on the lower left… odd… even restarting my phone didn’t make it appearIt does now; both in Voice Memos and directly within the Notes app.View attachment 2387228View attachment 2387230View attachment 2387235
Still, just because it’s niche doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be there. Granted, Apple may choose to never implement, but that’s a different story. Most end users are likely to recall other attributes of the contact record, and search that way "name of the company" , "job title" etc. I don't know of anyone, outside of a data analyst in an enterprise setting, whose primary means of identifying contacts in a list is by order of record creation.

That is incorrect. It is state/territory dependent and what you can do with those recordings also varies between the states that allow one party consent. Most likely the reason. For example, in 🇦🇺, it is illegal to record a phone call, conversation, video call etc without both parties consent.
Calls recording not working on Android phones for years now.Gosh. Apple went all out to copy Android this year.
