I think this is a good approach. It's he/she says but not for long. You can use the evidence against them
Which is severely lacking in iOS, even though we see progress here and there.Third party customization fills that gap.
Thanks but I know where I live and what the law says. I need neither your consent or to inform you.I believe it depends on the state you are in and where your other party is.
The phone knows where you are and can apply the policy that matches local laws.that would be illegal in CA and probably other places, so, there better not be that option
They've effectively funded hundreds of lawyers who will sue for violations of state wiretap laws. Once again, Apple has created a solution for something that wasn't a problem, that results in hundreds of problems. They are gonna need to walk this back a long way.
People who want to record calls are absolute creeps. To say that will invoke an angry reaction from the creep, claiming I have something to hide by not wanting my phone call to be recorded. It’s the users responsibility. Apple makes AirTags. Up to user to use them legally. Kids can view porn on safari. Up to users once again.
Recording calls is legal in my state. Also if the other party hears it’s recorded then maybe they won’t lie. Or send a text which is written and preferred by me. No problem with other party knowing. If they don’t like it then hang up.
Not in the USA you need to tell.
You don't need to tell anyone, unless you're in one of the 11 two-party/all-party states. Single-party consent includes the person calling and invoking the recording. You don't consent or disclose to yourself.but understand that is illegal in the US to record a phone call without notifying all parties of a call that recording is taking place.
It matters where the recording is being made. I reside in a single-party state, and don't need to disclose my recording of a call with someone in a two-party state.I believe it depends on the state you are in and where your other party is.
For real, most of the US is single-party, I don't know how so many users are ill-informed about the stateside laws. Thanks but I know where I live and what the law says. I need neither your consent or to inform you.
FYI... there are some reasons people don't tell. There have been a few cases of domestic violence where victims recorded their abuser making death threats (without of course telling them, they were being recorded). As well as the reverse where abusers recorded victims. I'm not condoning either. Courts have struggled with these kinds of cases.People who want to record calls are absolute creeps. To say that will invoke an angry reaction from the creep, claiming I have something to hide by not wanting my phone call to be recorded.
No, it’s just creepy and I’m glad the service will notify all parties. Sneaky phone call recording creeps have no place running around society unchecked, frankly.
Easy fix. Leave it turned on. Call recording has been around for decades. You have always been able to purchase equipment that will record calls. There are services that record calls through the iPhone. There are even products available that will record and transcribe straight from the phone. It is the the onus is on the individual to use products responsibly.that would be illegal in CA and probably other places, so, there better not be that option
Are you being serious. Conversation recording has been around for many decades, for many legitimate reasons. I don't have the time, or really care enough, to educate on all the legitimate purposes conversation recording/transcribing, that if a job for Google. But to make a blanket statement like that? Now, that is truly creepy.People who want to record calls are absolute creeps. To say that will invoke an angry reaction from the creep, claiming I have something to hide by not wanting my phone call to be recorded.

wrong. It is legal in many parts of the USNot in the USA you need to tell.
Most phone calls I make and receive are with businesses, most of which will record me and will use those recordings against me if it is useful to do so. Having recordings of our own gives us a bit more protection from their BS.People who want to record calls are absolute creeps. To say that will invoke an angry reaction from the creep, claiming I have something to hide by not wanting my phone call to be recorded.

I still can’t believe after a millennia safari still goes back to the top of a page when you press back button.I still can’t believe after 17 years there is no way to sort contacts by date/time added. Please tell me iOS 18 finally does this so I don’t need to use a third party app.
Pretty vague description, and it is not in beta 1.
Does it ALWAYS require AI, or is it just the transcription portion that needs AI to come in?
And what happens when the caller is from a home phone or an Android phone? How do you achieve the notification?
