At this point I won't be ditching 1Password. The ability to be ability to store credit cards, is something I use a lot with 1Password. It costs me £30.99 for 12 months subscription for 1Password, which personally I don't think is a lot of money based on how often I use 1Password on my various devices, and 1Password has served me well in the 11 years of using it.

My subscription to 1Password is not up for renewal until 1 July 2025, so if Apple can improve their password app up till then, I may consider stopping using 1Password, but at this point I would not.
If you use Safari, credit cards can be autofilled.

I suspected it couldn't replace 1Password 7 and it became true.

I stuck with 1Password 7 for quite a few years because it was a perpetual license. But it no longer gets updated. So I jumped ship yesterday.

I find it hard to get worked up about Passwords not having Passports, Driving Licenses, and Credit Card sections. It took me maybe 15 minutes to create secure notes for these.

But what good is that when you use other apps, browsers, etc. Storing secure details inside the browser is the worst possible thing to do 😬
It’s stored encrypted in the Keychain, so that’s irrelevant. If you don’t use Safari, then 1Password or Bitwarden are good options.

As long as the password app doesn’t support all of Apple required passwords, I won’t be using it. There are still Apple password windows that don‘t support autofill and I need to manually copy and paste the requested passwor.

I had high hopes for dumping 1P, but it looks like I’m hanging on for a while longer. I need passwords to be platform/software agnostic (I still use Windows too).

I spent more than 10 minutes logging in to an account on Apple TV, because the iOS Passwords app doesn’t really differentiate between a zero and a capital O.

I am sticking with 1Password because of its extensive functionality and features.
When Apple gets serious about putting Agil Bits out of business then I will switch.

Hi
Um first time here 😅. I just want to say that it’s amazing how can’t Apple see the vulnerability of new password app or the previous version.
Imagine a stollen iPhone. The burglar can also demand the unlock passcode.
With that code they can access all including the password app. He will have enough time until the owner can do something to block it. My suggestion was that this app would be possible to access only with Face ID or Touch ID. So without no code! We can also hide the Face ID or Touch ID settings using the time screen settings, that can have a different code than the unlock iPhone code. This was the burglar wouldn’t have access to passwords, neither the possibility to change the Face ID or Touch ID. If for some reason the proprietary of the iPhone couldn’t use password app due to defective Face ID or Touch ID, they could reset the settings activating again the access to this setting.
In my opinion this would add a major security step that we don’t have since ever.
I have sent many times this recommendation to apple but as I would suspect, no reply…

In order to prevent this, until we have an Apple solution, I have created a way of blocking the iPhone in case it’s stolen. The thief won’t have the possibility to use the iPhone, won’t have the possibility to shut down the iPhone, won’t have the possibility to disable data transfer, auto implementation of settings to reduce battery drain will be activated, and I even will receive a photo of the thief in my email and the location of the iPhone each 5 minutes to assure that I will recover the device. This way he can’t even silence the iPhone in case I activate a sound on the iPhone to know where it is. All this triggered by the thief it self. At the moment in the best option I got to add a next step security to my iPhone.
It could be a little “home made” but works fine for me. Anyone’s interested?🤣

Correct, all your passwords are then unlocked with a device passcode. No option for a custom passcode like in the Notes app. In other words, your Notes are better protected than your Passwords. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Well noted😂

It's called iCloud ;) You have been able to do that for years. In addition there are third party solutions by properly registered companies that provide alternative services.

You are talking on other situations. I refer to the case of a thief with access to your iPhone. If we could have a different access code the the password app, then would be ok but it’s the same password.
iCloud assures the storage of all your info. But if you use the password app to store your iCloud passcode, the thief will have access to your info until the owner can do something.
I know there are other apps to store passwords. Obviously it’s another solution but good solutions normally costs something. Apple has been implementing new features to have their own free solutions. I am referring to that. For those that can pay, it has never been a problem. Seems to be your case…😅Nit all are like you and not all have an iPhone 14 or newer that assures location of the device even in case of been shutdown. The solution I have to Apple assures security for all and not for you or me.

If a thief has your iPhone, and has also got your iCloud password, then it's game over already. But go on then, spit it out what your amazing free solution is ;)
