iOS 18 Rumored to Feature Major Siri Improvements

So do I, simple as that.

I don’t find use for all Apple's apps either, same strategy. Sometimes there’s better replacement apps from 3rd party also. Just because I love my devices and have great use of them I don’t have to swallow everything on them. Discernment is a great key!

The problem is that people have become so accustomed to not trusting Siri with anything that no one is going to really take advantage of any of this, especially if it behaves in the same way with slow and canned responses. I use Shortcuts every day but I wouldn't trust Siri to make them for me on the fly. We need real productivity and assistance solutions, which even Shortcuts is pretty shoddy at when done manually.

Yeah. Siri in her current form is absolutely garbage. I only use Siri to set timers or ask for directions, but she doesn't even do that correctly half the time. Siri almost never works when I ask it to play a band or a song in Apple Music. It feels like it's been getting gradually worse.

Have to manually cancel alarm.

Also give us different wake words already.
So my brothers ****** homepod mini 5 rooms over doesnt pick up my Hey Siri to the phone right in front if my face.

And fix apple watch Hey Siri, it also never hears me.

What an absolute nightmare Siri is.

I'd just be happy if she'd consistently work for things like - intercom, set a timer, play a certain song, etc.

Also I wish there was some kind of debug mode we could use. When she does something not related to what I asked, I've asked her what she heard me say and she says she can't tell me that. It would be nice to hear in her words what she thought I said so maybe I could phrase it different. I mean the real solution is she should be able to do things like set a timer or intercom the house, but I'd be willing to ask different if it would help to get it to work consistently.

Umm…Ok so they want to add more features to Siri? I speak clearly and concisely in American west coast English. However Siri still fails to dial a phone number for me at least 10-20% of the time. She will either miss a digit or add a digit unnecessarily.

I also noticed that Siri on Apple Watch often thinks I am asking for the time when washing my hands or crumpling a piece of paper. Asking Siri for directions in Hawaii absolutely confounds her as she can’t handle Hawaiian street names for the life of it. Crazy because the GPS in my 12 year old Toyota could understand Hawaiian street names 95% of the time.

Siri feels like it was down graded after ios 15. It's nearly useless

Apple touted all the big AI improvements like every year over the last 1/2 decades… and yet, with years of daily calls behind me, Siri still doesn’t recognize the non exotic names of my mother and sister.

Google Assistant will read minds before Siri can logically tell me weather conditions of a local town instead of one with the same name on the other side of the planet…. 😑
