So we are not getting a major update with new design like iOS 7 got and it won’t be the biggest update since the first iOS version, will be another small update with yes new Siri and rcs and a few ui design tweaks, I was hoping for a major update
If we had it your way it’d be as much of a disaster as iOS 7 was. Incremental changes are a way to ensure focus on stability.

All I want is the iPhone to feel new, since iso 1 it has looked the same design yes it’s changes in iOS 7 but even then it’s the same look at vision os and how fresh it feels, iOS needs that; sick of the same look year after year it’s boring
OK, well that’s dumb. Changes for changes sake are rarely helpful to anyone, especially the over 1.5 billion active iPhone users, most who absolutely hate when anything in their routine changes including their phones interface.

Even small changes, like the “end call” button being moved, caused public outcry.

And when iOS 7 first released, the redesign was so controversial that it was literally covered on cable news.

I don’t understand the change for the sake of change, just to not be “boring”. I mean, I don’t get an iPhone for it to entertain me with a completely new UI every 2-4 years. I get it to use it, and I want it to work fast, snappy and efficiently.

Something that changed a lot throughout iOS 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 was the Control Center, and I’m glad they didn’t change it again after iOS 11, because I find it useful as it is, and I’m used to it.

A new Siri to mean alone makes it a major update. Its capabilities seem to be reducing, noticed a few days ago I was unable to change screen brightness via Siri and get “sorry I can’t do that” as a response.
Used to be handy when driving to set it to a specific percentage as the sun rises or sets.

I had that dream too, then I woke up

If only it was just 1 bug!

Didn’t they just revamp macOS to look more like iOS?
In 2020 which was 4 years ago this fall. The article says that the macOS revamps will be for 2025 or 2026, so 5-6 years on the current design. That's about how long the Yosemite design refresh lasted (6 years). The Leopard - Mavericks design language lasted about 7 years (and received minor updates with Lion) and prior versions changed even more frequently. So this is about an average lifespan for a UI. iOS 7's design stuck around unusually long.

I for one would love to see macOS no longer either being stark white or dark. Give us some medium grays!

stop bloating it up with "new" features that not everyone wants or needs, make existing features optional (toggle) ...

and as long as humans do the coding, there always will be bugs, and once AI takes over, since AI learns from humans, there will be bugs
Even with a toggle the code/feature will still be there.

The circle icons are coming
Apple tried making circle icons standard (albeit inconsistently) with its built in Mac apps starting with Yosemite and abandoned the idea for rounded square apps with Big Sur. I'd be surprised if they changed either iOS/iPadOS or macOS.

Instead of the beta program I wish they did something similar to the Safari Technology program. But yes as long as humans are doing the coding there will be bugs and such. To expect absolute zero bugs and perfect software is unrealistic. It will never happen.

There's just no damn reason to keep releasing new IOS versions every single year. How about we go back to the way things used to be with software releases. Smartphones are a mature product. How about major OS releases every 3 to 5 years, with security and bug fixes on a regular basis (i.e., point releases)

i just wanna be able to customize my icon's and home screen i wanna be able to have only a couple icons on it.. maybe have a launchpad or something on the iPhone instead of all the pages etc but all i really want is to customize my stuff so my iPhone isn't like everyone else's

Curious what bugs? I think every version of any software will have bugs and I think Apple does a good job addressing most.
There’s a “find in page“ bug on the iphone. If you use that feature, it crashes safari until it says “a problem repeatedly occurred”. You have to force quit safari to make it work again.

I reported it months ago.

Edit: It just happened

You know you can hide all your apps in the App Library, right?

So you can have a completely empty Home Screen and just one additional “page” for the App Library.

Ah yes, there is the dock 🤷🏻‍♂️

I wonder how big the difference will be... maybe it'll be something like the shift from iOS 6 to iOS 7? 🫢

And the icons. Fix those ugly icons.
I had a Galaxy S24+ for a few weeks before going back to iPhone, one thing I really enjoyed and miss on the Galaxy is the ability to have a color palette that adjusts all of the icons to be the same color. Made it look so much cleaner and less distracting
