iOS 19 Rumored to Include These New Features for Your iPhone

So conversational Siri, which was supposed to be debuting on iOS 18, will instead be coming with iOS 19, but not at launch. You gotta wait six months AFTER launch.
At what point does Apple’s software team just outright admit it doesn’t have a clue what it is doing now?

No need to buy iphone 17. May as well wait for fall 2026. Good to know.

If these rumors become fact, Tim Cook should resign. The ridiculously slow rate of AI features being implemented, the poor execution, and the inability of Apple to hire quality developers is laughable at this point.

Ever since he was wrongly given the CEO job, Apple has failed at AI development… For close to 15 years now.

I would like to see them adopt a less frequent iOS release, and instead get each release stable, reliable, and to contain all the promised features, before they move on to the next one.

Another upgrade we don’t need. Apple is doing a fine job of delivering iOS 18. I have no complaints with the rollout. But I do have a complaint about is that we won’t even have had time to use the full iOS 18 before they’re wanting us to start looking at iOS 19. I’m getting sick and tired of this. Give us an operating system. Give us a chance to use it. Give us a chance to find bugs and make suggestions that update. There is no need to update unless there is a need to update.

The simple reason they space features out over the lifespan of iOS 18 is so you keep updating your device because Apple could easily put everything out in September & could use the rest of the months for bug fixes & under the hood improvements but choose not too

Tim Cook bet on the wrong horse. He put his best people on developing AR and VR in the form Vision Pro instead of AI and now he’s scrambling to catch up.

I’m surprised that it will be compatible with my iPhone 11. More reason to not upgrade. I mean sure the improved camera would be nice, but I wouldn’t have to make sure Apple Intelligence is really quite sincerely dead with each update.

The SoC in iPhones from 5 plus years ago are still solid processors for non AI tasks. The only limitation is the RAM and Apple is famous for putting the minimum possible in its devices. Although their OS is super efficient, it’s a key determinant for them cutting off support. No one will ever know, but it’s a convenient way to cut off support for otherwise capable phones in every other way.

I really wish Apple would go all hands on deck to fix all the bugs in iOS and MacOS. I need that more than I need a new camera app for sake of change.

I think the problem at this point is that "All hands on deck" are not capable of fixing the bugs. We need a new group of coders that know how to code.

A staggered release again, so basically with software they have somehow got themselves a year behind what they feel they need to market.

That is the rat trap Apple has fallen into because they have no software strategy and no leadership.

Apple's strategy, 4 weeks before the keynote decide what to include, then spend the next year trying to get it done. Apple software development is fundamentally broken at this point.

Yes and no. Like my 14 Pro, these phones have essentially been excluded from any (power hungry) major new features. This just leaves minor features and security updates. I’m sure even the XS/XR could go for a while.

I have said phone. It is on the list, which is nice.
It doesn’t support any of the new features, which is nicer.

It’s bad if you want the new things and they can’t run on old hardware. But it’s hella impressive that Apple is going to the trouble of keeping these old devices going. Supporting seven or eight year old devices is unheard of outside of Apple.
