How about scheduled messages to Android users? Will that be supported in iOS 19 or are we talking iOS 20 🤦♂️ ?

Apple could end the blue bubble / green bubble issue so easily, as with so much other low hanging fruit they ignore.
Just let people set it to whatever color they want. How hard is that? I can set my watch complications to a jillion colors, I can make my Home Screen look absolutely awful in whatever shade of color I want.
Why can't I just customize my Messages colors? It even says right there in the compose field, for every single message every single time, "iMessage" "Text Message" or "RCS".
This is really good news… I’m impressed with Apple about this. Let’s see how long it takes them… I hate having to convince people to use 3rd party apps, explain security, encryption etc, especially because most people don’t care lolNow I will praise apple. Edit messages and unsend messages sent to android from ios is a game changer
I have family members on Android and RCS is a game-changer. SMS sucks so bad
I miss jailbreaking my iPhone 🤣🤣You would surely loved the jailbreak scene 😂.
Or they could really double down: if it’s iMessage let you change it to any color, and for RCS/SMS just make it all grey 😆Apple could end the blue bubble / green bubble issue so easily, as with so much other low hanging fruit they ignore.

I don’t understand why to wait until iOS 19 instead of adopting the new 3.0 profile on upcoming iOS 18 updatesThis is the real RCS update. The iOS18 one was a tease using an ancient RCS profile.
And what if your text an iOS user that has iMessage turned off, as that would just show as an SMSI never text with android users
Question: who outside the USA is still using iMessage?
Apple this week said that it plans to add support for end-to-end encrypted RCS messages to the Messages app in future iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS software updates, and that news actually has some additional implications.

As noted by 9to5Mac's Michael Burkhardt, Apple has indirectly confirmed that it will be adopting the RCS Universal Profile 3.0 specification, which includes not only end-to-end encryption, but also several other iMessage-like enhancements that were originally introduced in version 2.7 of the specification. iOS 18 supports RCS Universal Profile 2.4.
Here are five new capabilities to expect for RCS conversations:
iMessage conversations with blue bubbles have supported end-to-end encryption by default since iOS 5. In addition, iMessage has supported in-line replies since iOS 14, while the options to edit and unsend iMessages were introduced with iOS 16.
- End-to-end encryption, which will prevent Apple and any other third party from being able to read messages and attachments while they are being sent between devices, as has always been the case with iMessage
- In-line replies
- Edit messages
- Unsend messages
- Full-fledged Tapback support for RCS messages, ensuring they always work
Apple has not indicated which iOS version will upgrade RCS, but iOS 19 or a follow-up update like iOS 19.1 or iOS 19.2 seems like a safe bet.

Yes, Apple adopted an older version of RCS when they finally did.Correct. But this article discusses supposed future updates, right?
Maybe he is so rich he doesn't need to show his status with a phone. But I like knowing if the person I'm talking to is poor.
The same for me with iuser... I have a friends with imessage that continued to send me sms instead of using WhatsApp. I decided to ignore sms because I was tired of his approach blue vs green but after he was forced to switch to WhatsApp by his friends circle because he was the only one without WhatsApp. Now he is a regular user (and happy) of the multicolor world.I never text with android users
As long we can block iPhone users too thenthey should add a "block all android messages" feature.
no way here in west europe. i am admin of several whatsApp groups. nobody would switch to a new conversation because of „new apple features“ because everybody is in other whatsapp groups etc etc. yeah and i am a zuck hater. nobody cares.
