I was just going to ask if it fixes CarPlay. Been having the disconnect issue with my iPhone Air on 26.0.1. I literally can't use CarPlay at all due to the issue since I switched to iPhone Air.

So I never had any CarPlay issues until today. But I don’t have wireless CarPlay in my Polestar 2 - it’s wired only. But now that don’t work. Hahaha

For me, every icon redraws the outline every single time it’s minimized/zoomed out - believe that is what is being referred to here - watch the outline appear on the icon when you “minimize” an app.
I believe that is intentional to make it look like shimmering glass effect. Not really seeing how so many are so twerked about it though. It's takes maybe 1/2 of a second and really doesn't harm anything. I actually like it myself. I use dark icons so it looks as I described. Maybe tinted or "clear" has a different effect that drives folks mad. :)

For me, it’s not the shimmering effect as you say that is an issue, it’s that it’s gone during the minimize/zoom out animation and then appears - I find this a bit eh, like why not make it persistent because the it’s gone and then it’s back again doesn’t look great.

However, there are far bigger cosmetic/visual bugs I hope Apple is focusing on and not this one.

The jankiness that is the mail app, I hope they’re focusing on fixing the bouncing around of the UI elements.

Don’t do it. Don’t upgrade.

They murdered folder icons.View attachment 2567387
It does look like the icons are in the cross hairs.

It’s embarrassing something like this actually shipped. Can anyone confirm if it is fixed in the latest beta?

Technically they didn’t. It’s not shipped yet, it’s a beta. Beta has bugs, and those in the beta find them. But a beta doesn’t ship, that’s the main releases.

CarPlay is completely broken for me now. Car doesn’t recognize the phone is even plugged in. I restarted the car and the phone, disconnected and reconnected multiple times and nothing. Oddly the music was playing from my phone in the background, but then that stopped too and it will no longer connect. I deleted my car from the CarPlay settings on the phone and there isn’t even an option to set it back up again.

Was out and about earlier today after updating to 26.1DP3. CarPlay worked flawlessly for me - music (Apple Music and SiriusXM app), maps (Apple Maps) and phone while connected via wireless CarPlay to my 2025 Ford Bronco Sport (SYNC4).

Really hoping it fixes the icon redraw problem.

No one outside of MacRumors members care about this

Doesn’t surprise me.

And then there's folks like me that have been a MacRumors member for over 15 years ... and have no idea what the 'icon redraw' problem is. Either I don't experience it, or it's so minor I've never noticed it, or it's something I don't have any particular feeling about.

Hope whatever it is gets fixed for you.

fwiw, wireless CarPlay worked perfectly for me today after upgrade to b3. Did you try rebooting your phone to see if CarPlay started behaving again?

My Schlage Encode Plus and my RATGDO garage opener disappeared from Home app which I discovered when I couldn’t open garage door from the car.

They are not on the app Home Screen but if I try to add them, I get an error that the device has already been added.

I had this problem during a few 18 betas. Be sure to submit a bug report.

And yet I’m also in the 15 year club and have a video of it occurring literally almost daily, especially when I had my 15PM.

I think the fact that Feedback Assistant shows the issue as having “more than 10” reports indicates a lot of users are affected and have submitted complaints. And, on essentially every platform, Macrumors, Reddit, etc. it’s the most commonly mentioned issue. Seems significant to me.

I don’t see this on mine, either, and I’m part of the… holy crap 19 year club. God I’m old.

Not to say it’s not happening, just that bugs like this can be hard to fix if it’s not a commonly reported issue.

No issues with my wired CarPlay setup with iPhone 15. Perhaps try a new cable, hard reset of your iPhone or an IPSW installation on top of your existing one?

Not quite.

Using MR as an example, if I typed “macrumors” into a new tab, the progress bar will start, but never load the page or go past say, 1/8th complete.

If I pull up the address bar again and type macrumors into it again, it loads instantly.

Safari search works fine for me on iPhone 15.

My bug report shows “less than 10.”

Maybe it was because I titled mine “Folder Icons Are Physically Upsetting.”
