iOS 26.1 Beta 4 Adds Toggle to Turn Off Lock Screen Camera Swipe

Honestly I’m going beta for this

accessibility, touch, tap or swipe to wake - turn it off. The downside is that you'll have to press the side button to wake the phone up, but I can live with that vs accidentally taking photos and videos ...
Most of the time I pick the phone up to unlock so don't have to do the side button too often, but I will turn it on again with this new toggle

That’s good news. We don’t need 3 different ways to access the camera from the Lock Screen (4 if you count Siri).

Edit: Actually 5 if you count the Action Button lol. Oh actually 6 if you count Control Center, omg.

Very good. I have accidentally „turned the Camera on“ so many times inadvertently just by carrying the phone around - resulting in unnecessary battery drain.

Yeah but now I'm accidentally launching the camera with the Camera Button! There's probably a way to turn that off, I haven't checked.

In camera control you can also select "Double Click" which might make it less likely to launch accidentally.

This is not for camera control, this is where you swipe left on the home or lock screen and it invokes the camera. I have been wanting to turn this off for years.

My Gen Alpha swipes to open camera on all my devices. Drives me nuts.

There is. Settings - Accessibility - Camera control - Toggle Off Camera Control.

I hope they add a setting to disable the lock screen customization mode. I always end up in it by accident, and it's super annoying.

Actually, what I want is the ability to control the level of transparency via a slider control (or at least a stepped control with 4-5 levels of transparency).
