Tint option cannot come soon enough! Especially for dark mode, which isn’t actually dark a lot of the time now. And the icons looking less shiny on the edges in dark mode. If it looks decent enough I might finally upgrade my Mac which I’ve been avoiding specifically because of Liquid Ass.

You don't understand how remarkable that change is because Jony Ive isn't explaining it to you with his accent. He'd tell you how the design team painstakingly spent hours figuring out the optimal spacing right down to the pixel. Or how about how they spent hours on the animation to make you believe that you are sliding the highest quality glass across a cushion of air. It's absolutely magical. MAGICAL! DON'T QUESTION THE ALL MIGHTY APPLE!
Let’s not forget the full statement:
It’s Magical and Revolutionary

Says Apple… over & over & over.

I didn’t know this! What a shame. I have all my device languages set to English, but want my Siri in Dutch, but I just found out Apple Intelligence won’t allow that. Device and Siri language must be the same. Very frustrating for all bilingual users.

Exact same situation: Siri is unusable in English as it will fail Dutch names, locations and addresses. And I don’t want to send English text messages.

Switching all my device languages from English to Dutch is not an option either. I could maybe accept Dutch iOS but definitely not a Dutch macOS.

Liquid Glass Transparency Toggle

Apple added a toggle for customizing the look of Liquid Glass. In Settings > Display and Brightness, there's a new option to switch between Clear or Tinted settings.
But, let me guess, if there isn’t an improvement in battery life it’s because Apple is deliberately rendering Liquid (Gl)ass first then tinting after, because I guess that’s the new unprovable conspiracy that everyone can get behind.

15PM ... same ... Was so bad I had to update to 26.1RC to see if it fixes this .... Nope ... And battery life is horrid ... Maybe 3-4 hours before it's drained from 100% to well below 20%
I think it’s time for a Samsung xD srsly

I wonder what the adoption rate of IOS 26 is to date?
Apples long standing game played to perfection:

1. Release the new version of iOS/ iPadOS/ macOS.
2. Shortly thereafter stop signing prior version thereby preventing users from downgrading, locking them in.
3. Publish a piece bragging about adoption rate of the new game changing OS.

Enjoy significant additional revenue from those looking for a better experience via new hardware designed specifically for the new OS.

Absolutely! I’ve yet to upgrade. Yet to feel the need or desire.

Looks like it’s Christmas: I no longer have the weird flashing keyboard on Safari. Before, the keyboard behaved weirdly depending on the colour of the background, now it looks normal.

It seems we have what I “predicted” (expected is probably a better word, I don’t want it to sound like it was my invention): They over-do it on first version, and then over time dial it back to something that actually looks nice. I have now disabled Reduced transparency in Accessibility again, although I did set the Glass to lower transparency in the Screen settings (which is not the same effect!)
