I don't know, I can't find anything that justifies that difference in performance, but both times I had to format my phone while using an eSIM, I lost it. I had to go to one of my carrier's stores to get another one, but nowadays that's a hassle because I don't have one nearby. That's why I'm afraid of restoring and losing it.

What do you mean by “format”. Would help if you outlined the steps you take. They should basically be:

1. Open iTunes
2. Plugin your phone to the pc and wait for it to show in iTunes.

MAKE AN ENCRIPTED BACKUP !!!

3. Press volume up, volume down then press and hold side button until you see the connected to pc message.
4. Then follow the prompts to restore.

The pc will download the correct file. When that’s complete just follow the prompts.

Anyone have a few random spring board crashes when you unlock the phone and then try to open the messages app? Happened to me a few times. Seems to only happen when you unlock and go right to messages, haven’t had it happen when already on home screen and using other apps and then going to messages. Running Beta 3 and did it on Beta 2 & 1. 17 Pro Max. Feedback submitted. FB21117387

A couple of you have told me you haven't lost any Apple Pay or eSIM transactions. Do I need to do anything special?

I'm using the new Apple app for Windows. Maybe iTunes doesn't delete them, or have you used a Mac?

Regarding the transactions, I keep downloading the cards, but it never restores any of them. Do you download the card on the first startup or after the system has booted up? Also, I have the Wallet app synced with iCloud. Is that enough, or do I need to sync something else?
Delete Apple Devices app. It is garbage and always causing people grief. Use iTunes if you are in Windows and download it from Apple not the Microsoft Store.

I can't do anything wrong. All I can do is click the restore button in iTunes or Apple Devices; I have no way to influence the process.
The page you provided, thank you for that, notice that it specifies it was created on November 12, 2025, that is, 8 days ago.
That makes me think that Apple has finally equipped all its apps and computer-based restoration methods with the ability to avoid deleting eSIMs. If I restore this weekend, I'll try the new app; it seems they're focusing their efforts on it now, and there's probably a better chance of the eSIM not being deleted with it.
Again, use iTunes NOT the Apple Devices app.

I am puzzled. Why would you have to "go to the store" to get an electronic eSim that is transferred wirelessly? There should be no need to physically be in the store for that since they are not giving you a physical sim card.

[Edit] Never mind , I saw your post explaining this. Weird process and defeats the whole point of eSIM. Sorry you have to deal with that. However, never has a eSIM deleted during restores, DFU restores etc. Perhaps you should just wait it out or "upgrade" and use the IPSW you choose rather than a restore.

iPad M4 pro 11 inch: Running smooth as silk., More responsive as 26.1 especially in safari after the update to B3.
I had to do a hard reset, after the update, but all fine now. Battery drain not changed, as before on 26.1.
So I think the drain is very much depending on apps and what settings one uses for these apps.

So.. for 2 days in a row now my wake up alarm made no sound and my watch didn’t do the pulse/haptic thing..

Today I happened to wake up before it was scheduled so I was watching to be sure. Screen on phone showed the alarm animation but that was it.

I snoozed the alarm and it did produce sound and haptics at the end of the snooze period.

I remember a lot of reports of this in the past but haven’t seen much recently so I’ll submit a feedback. (I’ve had a couple of odd sporadic things happen on this beta.. device froze while screen was 1/2 way up after unlocking the other day and became unresponsive.. stuff like that)

When closing App Library, the icons hang in the top right corner on IPP.

This is what the light grey UI glitching in Safari looks like. It’s not constantly-reactive to the webpage content underneath, once it locks in light grey like this you have to switch tabs or apps to revert to normal.

Aside from the obvious visual inconsistency, its reducing the contrast and readability of white text and icons.
Mine does that constantly just browsing this site. Except the entire bottom and top bars change from black to white (or red or green). All it takes is an Ad that forces position at the bottom of the screen for me. No fix either outside closing safari.

As I replied to the other person earlier, both times I've had to format my phone while using an eSIM, I lost it. The only thing I can think of is that your carrier might allow remote activation and download, which my carrier doesn't. To get an eSIM, I have to go to a store to order one and have them send me an email with a one-time-use QR code. Once used, this code is no longer valid, and you have to go back to a store if it gets deleted. And each time you order an eSIM, it costs €15. The truth is, the eSIM system in Spain is very poorly implemented, and the carriers' greed is killing a very good technology.

Just stop using Apple Devices as everyone has been telling you for a while. It's as if you wanted to make it a matter of principle to run into issues with that app and then complain. It's obvious that it's not working properly for you, so you're best off if you just stop using it, and use OTA or iTunes instead.

I believe you are thinking of another user here not this one. :) But yes, anyone who is on these forums should be aware of the whole Apple Devices discussions, ditch it and use any other method for your device management.

You're doing something wrong.

* Restoring an iPhone won’t delete your eSIM.

Is literally at the bottom of that page.
That’s not true always, in some countries like Spain, some companies does not allow eSIM transfer because a layer of security against duplicates, so restoring, upgrading to a new device will delete the eSIM and you will have to go to a physical store to get a new one mailed to you, and it takes 72Hrs to activate, so in that time you won’t have a working line.
In the US YES, esim’s work better and that’s were Apple is based so all documentation is from that data even for foreign apple web pages, still reference primarily to US knowledge.

If you are in Spain don’t do it, it’s better to hard restart and wait for other beta. Or ask beforehand for a new eSIM duplicate and do the restore when you get the new email containing the new eSIM QR.

watchOS 26.1 : Sleep data (Respiratory Rate: Sleep, and Heart Rate: Sleep) for same person as measured by Apple Watch 6 is different from readings on Apple Watch 11.

The sleep data measured by Apple Watch 6 is different from the values of sleep data (Respiratory Rate: Sleep, and Heart Rate: Sleep) for same person.

Regardless of the subjective feeling of more accurate, it is clear that the data recorded by both watches must be the same. Having different data recorded by the two watches is not expected.

Anyone else?

The hardware is different so it is entirely plausible to get different readings between the 2…

Wow, Beta 3 on iPhone 17 Pro is super smooth compared to Beta 2! Still seeing a tiny flicker with folder icons in dark mode though. Has anyone else noticed this? Curious if it’s happening on other devices too.

I have used Apple's Recovery Mode (like but not the same as DFU) to test SDP removal, and my eSIM remained intact and activated (UK Spusu carrier). Maybe the DFU is harsher
EDIT: or maybe it is just Spain!
Certainly the erase all data and settings asks to keep or erase eSIM. Recovery mode doesn't offer the option.
