Agreed. Battery life is broken in b3.
Yes, and last Friday I also used 67% battery with beta 2, with 7 hours and 30 minutes of screen time. Yesterday, with beta 3 and only 1% more usage, I got 6 hours and 3 minutes. The difference is significant; I hope it improves over the next few days, but it doesn't seem likely given the current battery consumption.

I just sent a report to Apple regarding the battery drain. Just thinking about having to deal with this for two weeks makes me want to downgrade to beta 2 or directly restore to 26.1. The downside of restoring is that I'll lose my eSIM, and it's a real headache to recover it with my carrier. I'll also lose some bank transactions that are only in Apple Pay. But if the battery life doesn't improve by Friday, I'll have to decide which option to choose over the weekend.

As of today, I don't see iOS 26.2 as being a good version at all. Apple has a lot of work and it seems like they're always on vacation. Between starting the beta cycle a week late and now taking another week off, it looks like they'll delay the release of iOS 26.2 because the Release Candidate, which should be the next beta version in the first week of December, has to fix a lot of performance and visual issues that I don't know if they'll be able to address. Also check the reported bugs; they all have more than 10 reports, but none have been fixed yet haha

Restoring your OS won’t affect your eSIM.

Not going to lose your eSIM and your Apple Pay transactions will be there when you add your card back to Apple Pay.

This past weekend, I restored as new, my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch to iOS 26.2 beta 3 and had no issues with my eSIM or Apple Pay transactions (on my iPhone).

I’m not sure it will be. The new animation is for when a liquid glass button transforms into a menu. For icons it pops up so makes sense.
They should bring back the one from iOS 9 - iOS 12 where it expanded out from behind the app icon. It looked so good and I was so mad when they got rid of it. I think a Liquid Glass version would look fantastic!

Can someone confirm if this is happening for them on b3:
  1. Open Photos
  2. Go to your photo library
  3. Play a video with sound
  4. Swipe down on the video (while it is playing) to dismiss it and return to the library
  5. Tell me if you can still hear the audio playing from your video
  6. Swipe away on photos app to close it (not a force close)
  7. Open photos back up (Can you hear the audio playing again?)
For me, only force-closing photos truly stops the video from playing..

Audio stops as soon as I swipe down.

Just updated to Beta 3 and my Car Play is now working great I had problems with Beta 2 with lag and not connecting properly but now all seems ok.

For anyone interested I am using a Ottocast adaptor to enable wireless Car Play

Battery is a bit better after a few hard reboots. Yesterday I was using the phone as a hotspot, that may have killed the battery, but it shouldn't as much as it did.

Makes me wonder if the 5G modem is the cause of the high draining in b3. I have 5G Auto on, but I suspect that's the cause. The hard reboots seems to have calmed it.

Restoring your OS won’t affect your eSIM.
I restored my iPhone 15 Pro 6 months ago from an Apple device to Windows and it deleted my eSIM. Only when I restored from the phone itself was I able to choose whether to keep or delete the eSIM.

I've restored my system several times over the years, and it's never restored my transactions. I've always had to start from scratch in that regard. Regarding the eSIM issue, I already mentioned it to the person I replied to in the previous message, but it was deleted when I restored using the Apple app for Windows.

A couple of you have told me you haven't lost any Apple Pay or eSIM transactions. Do I need to do anything special?

I'm using the new Apple app for Windows. Maybe iTunes doesn't delete them, or have you used a Mac?

Regarding the transactions, I keep downloading the cards, but it never restores any of them. Do you download the card on the first startup or after the system has booted up? Also, I have the Wallet app synced with iCloud. Is that enough, or do I need to sync something else?

That windows “app” is known to be worthless. Get rid of it. iTunes still works great

Oh interesting. I always have cellular data set to LTE-only and haven’t noticed much if any difference battery-wise on beta 3

Battery drain on my iPhone air seems to have settled down overnight on b3 as well. B2 was excellent and saw quite a hit after moving to b3 yesterday. Hard restarted a few times yesterday, sat on charger overnight and today seems back to b2 level

I’ve had my battery go from awful to good after 4/5 days on occasion when on betas. I always do a few hard resets and overnight charges for good measure.

I think my 16PM on Beta 3 may be settling down after an initial horrendous baddery drain. After 24 hours, in the last few hours, it's only dropped 1%. Maybe all that indexing was shafting the baddery!

I really hope that indexing was the issues, because apart from that, my 16PM is flying.

I've also used iTunes, and I lost the eSIM on my iPhone 13 Pro as well. So I haven't noticed any difference between the two programs in that regard.
