FWIW, on iPhone 17 Pro with RC 2:
- Cellular performance on Verizon *seems* improved a bit in low signal area (modem 1.20.06)
- (@iLuddite) control center visual bug is there with Reduce Motion and Prefer Crossfade ON ✅
- (@fabianrain) keyboard still doesn’t fit display: ✅
- (@maika1305) feedback app is still available…
- I don’t see stuttering in app transitions or lag switching between apps; maybe I can’t see them….
- auto correct and CarPlay: not evaluated

My experience is that iOS 26.x has been significantly worse than recent major versions due to many smaller glitches. I haven’t had any critical problems, but a relative had Google account problems upgrading 18.x to 26.1x

This sw release is pretty poor. Maybe not windows 11 bad, but poor nonetheless.

Anyone with a 16 pro experiencing their phone getting warm?

Battery life is decent, performance feels good, my only main issue is it heating up (iOS 18 I never felt it get warm unless I was playing a game or using the camera)

I did some more testing.. I went out and bought a brand new Beats cable from our local Apple Store and did remove the CarPlay listing for my iPhone in the Stereo's Settings (Not BlueTooth, but another option for CarPlay). I also made sure to Forget my car in the iPhone Settings. There was no reference of my iPhone being connected to my car in any way. I connected with my new cable, and the head unit restarted....

I went and removed the iPhone from my car and my car from my iPhone's settings, turned off my car and waited about 15 minutes before trying again, and I rebooted my iPhone. I then connected my iPhone using this same cable, but now I DIDN'T accept and allow everything for CarPlay, and low and behold, my Stereo didn't reboot...
I drove after this for about 20 minutes and the Stereo still was fine. At one point I enabled CarPlay at a Stop Light, and the Stereo immediately restarted.

So, it's not my Stereo if I can still connect it without CarPlay. Although doing this means it does not charge my iPhone! Craziness.

Yep, 26.2 adds new extra-liquidy animations for buttons and submenus which apparently conflicts with this accessibility setting (I mean to be honest it’s kind of fitting since in my opinion liquid glass has been a nightmare from a visual ergonomics standpoint, but I digress)
Honestly I prefer much more the standard animations without that accessibility setting.

So their is new modem firmware in 26.2? I’m on T-Mobile and my cell connection goes on and off sometimes in 26.1. Also has battery improved in 26.2?

agree with both.
I already noticed that there was only a couple second hiccup as I left Wi-Fi to 5G UW while watching a live stream (Twitch). nice change from almost 20-30 seconds for the past few builds. Most of the time I just turned off Wi-Fi as I walked away.

iOS 26.2 released. New build 23C55. OTA and IPSW available. Also released,
iPadOS 26.2 (23C55)
MacOS 26.2 (Pending)
TvOS 26.2 (23K54)
WatchOS 26.2 (23S303) *same build as RC

I make this same comment in every thread where people seem keep to update the latest RC for the public release, despite the fact the only difference is likely to be some internal testing code removed.

You go through the entire upgrade process (on iOS and MacOS) just to go ... oooo! Look! iOS 26.3 beta 1!

(If you plan to skip the next beta, then ignore me and put the public release on your devices, but can you really resist???)

On the public build the keyboard looks like it renders without gaps!

Sadly, the Control Panel rendering issue (BT control big circle) still exists, but it resolves itself after a moment.

In RC 2 I also found a problem that Text Filtering was using an app that was not selected in Messages Settings. That happened when I installed RC 2; 26.1 did not have that issue. Since I delete the app that was providing unwanted filtering, it will be hard to test in the public release.

Can't be, I'm on the macOS 26.2 RC and that's build 23C56

FYI “ iPhone iOS 26.2 build 23C55 is the final release (RTM/stable version) of iOS 26.2. It is not Beta 3 and not RC3 — it’s the official public release build that Apple shipped on December 12, 2025.”
