Based on the responses here it would seem that the 17 Pro / Max camp are the most satisfied with this update.

Me on the other hand 16 Pro user is sitting on the fence.

I would appreciate feedback from 16 Pro users if it is worth the effort / frustration to update from 26.1
16 Pro Max, stabile the whole 26.2 Beta Cycle. No issues to report

When I open Settings > General, the Local Capture submenu immediately disappears. Anyone else? 17 Pro Max here.
This option doesn't even show up on my phone.
and the redrawing of the bottom of the screen happens in the messages app too. Exiting a message to the main screen slowly redraws the bottom of the screen.

That was the basis for a semi-recent class action lawsuit. I doubt Apple would "purposely" do that again.
Well they are at least smart enough to not talk about it in internal communication (cough... Google! ... sorry, had to clear my throat). Doesn't mean there is not a trend of pushing the OS to use the silicon to its max in order to make newer devices more attractive and continue to make older devices feel old (in both look, performance, and battery life). Just your average weekday dark pattern.

Working well for me - 16PM. No issues to report.

Why am I constantly supposed to be the test guinea pig for a $3 trillion dollar tech company? Are they paying me to put my device and personal info at risk yet again? No I think not. all iOS releases should be accompanied by a note saying “this update is safe to proceed with” or “WARNING This iOS update and/or Apple Devices is broken and may result in a broken iPhone or data loss”
It shouldn’t even be a question I have to ask, but at least I am asking.
What?. You volunteer to beta test ( or get invited by Apple) it is your choice. You can choose to wait for us to test it, or help out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Beta updates do carry a warning, I guess you need to read the small print.

Official versions are just as bad as the Beta versions

Apple has lost the quality control plot.
I know exactly what your next response will be " change to android "

One item of note specific to iPad OS on my iPad Pro, when I close the app library without selecting an app, the menu shrinks / groups in the top left corner of the screen and then seems to jump off the display and disappear.

Talk about missing the point. This is an RC release, which is basically identical to the final release (except for some recent examples where final got an updated build) and in any case, the same unpredictable behavior rings true for many final releases just as much as it does for the beta. Installing any IPSW these days is equivalent to playing Russian roulette with your phone, it doesn’t matter what kind of build it is classified as. None of this would even be in question if the trillion dollar tech company’s software wasn’t consistently broken and unusable.

Yep. I would bet my next Social Security payment that it will not be fixed at all in 26. The visual changes made in 26 are too much for the devices to handle so some reappearance or redrawing is inevitable. They may make major changes in 27 to deal with this, but I’m not hopeful in that, at least for me, it causes little to no functional problem. Just looks bad when you have the latest iOS devices.

Was fixed 2 betas ago.

Nope! This started on the beta before this last one from today's RC. I guess beta 2 since there was only 3 and then the RC. I have yet to be able to test this in my car.. That'll be in the next hour or so.
Damn man. I’ve read your later posts in this thread too, and 26.2 seems to really have it in for your phone.

After all you’ve tried, the only thing I can suggest (aside from wiping, bleh) would be a wireless CarPlay dongle. Maybe you’ll have better luck with one than I did.

You must be really using the phone a lot, I’m quite a heavy user of the phone and I’d still have around 45%.

My 17PM updated fine.
That’s what I’m saying. I used to be able to go to bed at 50-60% with iOS 17 on my 15PM, but once 18 hit, I was barely eeking out a day. 26? I was charging 3 times a day when my 17PM came.

But things have been good with the 17PM generally, except that last cursed beta.

iPad Pro 11 M4
Safari
Have this device set to Dark and have some pages that open in Light mode and some that randomly open in one or the other. No add ons, no add blockers, just stock Safari. AppInt is off.

Was good till these last two releases.

Yes, spell and grammar still really suck.
