iOS 26.3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Well it’s been pretty much a week since the release of 26.3 and using it on my iPhone 17, coming from 26.2.1.

Overall this has been the best version of iOS 26 since its debut in September 2025. It’s taken them some time to get this to a decent level!

Performance overall is superb with a noticeable improvement in device speed and smoothness. (higher benchmark numbers) It’s lighting fast and how i’d expect a device to operate with the A19, it can keep up with how fast I want things to happen and get things done.

Smoothness and fluidity across the board is excellent. No stutters, lag, flickers, glitches etc, which is very nice to finally see.

Battery life has seen a small increase which is also welcome.

It’s not all perfect as twice now since updating, the photos app has randomly closed itself while I’ve been editing photos.

Overall very happy and the iPhone 17 has been a pleasure to use on this update, much better than 26.2 & 26.2.1.

I completely agree with this comment.My 17 Pro Max is running perfectly on 26.3, no bugs at all and the battery is great. Let’s keep it moving.

I can't add a VIP to Mail. I tap on "Add VIP", then go to my Contacts. I tap on a contact, but it's not added to the VIP list. I have no idea how long it's been this way.

My experience as well minus the photos app crashing. I always clean install the first public release in September and subsequent updates via IPSW.

I ordered the new iPhone 17 Pro Max and returned it after a few days. I like Liquid Glass, but the overall state of the system is really poor. During those few days I noticed:

- Settings > Apps – the interface stutters and animations aren't smooth.
- When returning from an app to the home screen, Liquid Glass isn't loaded properly – the shine around the icons is simply missing.
- Animations aren't fluid, which ruins the overall experience.
- Do Not Disturb turns itself off on its own.

I tried switching back from the S25 Ultra. It just doesn't work. Apple has lost its touch.

iPadOS - is there no way to screenshot the full, long webpage now in one document? Taking a screenshot and then selecting the ‘full page’ option removes the Safari address bar from the screenshot, but doesn’t show any of the webpage that isn’t on screen when the screenshot was taken. I’ve tried saving as photo and PDF. Not something I’ve used often over the years, but worked in previous iPadOS versions from 18 and earlier. (I’ve just ordered something and the order acknowledgment is quite long, going off of the screen. So I wanted to take a screenshot of the entire webpage so I have the order acknowledgment in one document and not have to take multiple screenshots.)

iPadOS - has happened in all versions of iPadOS26 that I’ve used from 26.1 to current. Sometimes when closing an app by swiping from the bottom of the screen to go to the Home Screen, the app icons and widgets disappear completely for a second or two (can only see the wallpaper), before reappearing. I’m using light / dark mode icons depending on the time of day. It’s nothing to do with the automatic change as I could be using the iPad in the morning at 10am with icons already on light mode and then swipe to the Home Screen and this happens.

iOS - since 26.2.1. When I call a contact who has a Contact Poster, sometimes their Contact Poster doesn’t show in my phone and it’s just a grey screen with the call end, mute and all other options. Though they can see my Contact Poster. If they call me, the reverse happens - my Contact Poster doesn’t show for them in the call, but I can see theirs.

I tried Apple Intelligence for about an hour decided I won’t use it and turned it back off yet the image cleanup remains in the photos app. I also rebooted a couple times and it’s still there. Is this a bug? Shouldn’t it disappear with the Apple Intelligence toggle off?
 
Anyone else getting WiFi disconnects on their 17P?

Haven’t had that on 26.2 or 26.2.1 and even resetting network settings didn’t help. My WiFi settings haven’t changed.

i've never used the AI , and the clean up feature always have been available. From ios 18 to ios 26
 
Still stuttering in the sound on carplay here. checked everything, removed iPhone 17 pm, installed a new IPSW, restored network etc etc but nothing helped. even reset my BMW again. Previously everything was wireless and went well. after 26.1 problems. hope 26.4 offers a solution.

no sounds 🙁 I am getting them in the notifications center but no sounds coming thru and i ahve like 9 email accounts and they all had their own ringtone . So there is a bug ?
 
Anyone else having issues with their microphone since 26.3? Using the voice memos app and voice notes on WhatsApp now sounds very windy, even in a quiet environment inside and the volume on my voice recordings is really low, You can even see the waveform in the voice notes app is very small.

Oh. The cleanup feature never appeared until I turned on Apple Intelligence. It must have downloaded the models for it and then it just hangs on to it after you turn the switch off for whatever reason.
 
When using reduce motion and switching apps from left to right (on the bottom) the frame rate is like 30-60fps. Turn reduce motion off on its a smooth 120. Please fix this for us reduce motion users Apple. Thanks. Or maybe it’s intended to be stuttery? Doubt it.

The keyboard messes up in Notes.app from time to time (and has done since iPadOS 26.1 which is the first 26 version I installed on the device). I’m not sure what triggers it, and it only happens in the Notes app that I’ve seen. Clicking the ‘123’ button to go to the number/characters keyboard and back again fixes the problem.

iOS 26 has been a dumpster fire since release. The keyboard has been the biggest pain in my a$$ (surprise surprise). 4 or 5 times a day when I’m typing, predictive text and autocorrect just stop working. I have to close the app and go back in for it to work again. Anyone else have this or is it just me?

Since yesterday I have a red update badge on my iPhone 16 PM but there is nothing to update. I'm on 26.3. Anyone knows what might be happening? TIA.
 
This version is no longer signed, you’ll have to install 26.3.1 if you want to restore or update your iPhone or iPad.

Something inside me knew this was going to happen soon, so I hurried up and installed iOS/iPadOS 26.3 on all my devices.
