iOS 26.3 has been solid for me all the way through beta on my iPhone 16 Pro. Just a bit disappointed that every visual glitch I've reported is still present. Had hoped Apple would have focused fixing glitches before iOS 26.4 which will focus on the new Siri. I assume fixing existing visual bugs will be down prioritized until iOS 27 by now..

I would assume that iOS 27 will focus on the visual issues. Apple have enough to manage with the new Siri. Come September we should be in a better place.

Keyboard still suggests nonsense words unless I type super slow.

So 2 builds newer than RC
I am curious. The build number after the letter (D in this case) continues from previous versions? Or is it reset after each release?

For instance, iOS 26.2 is build number 23C56, while iOS 26.3 is build number 23D127… what does this mean? It’s the #127 build of iOS 26, or has iOS 26.3 had more iterations than iOS 26.2?

The letter indicates the kernel and with that also the minor version of the OS.
iOS 26 is using Darwin Kernel Version 25.x

26.0.x is build 23Axxx (Darwin Kernel Version 25.0)
26.1.x is build 23Bxxx (Darwin Kernel Version 25.1)
26.2.x is build 23Cxxx (Darwin Kernel Version 25.2)
26.3.x is build 23Dxxx (Darwin Kernel Version 25.3)

So with every minor version change, there is a new kernel minor version and thus a new letter.
26.4 will be build 23Exxx with Darwin Kernel Version 25.4.

The number after the letter then „restarts“ with every new letter = new kernel minor version (like Darwin Kernel Version 25.0 to 25.1).
So in theory there was a build 23D1, but most likely not due to pre-builds, alpha builds like 23D3000 an 4000 builds, betas that are in the 5000 range etc.).

Within fix releases (like 26.2.1), the letter does usually not change (as usually the kernel minor version does not change - yes I know there were exceptions back in iOS 12 I guess) and thus the number after the letter just increases within fix releases.

Hope that helps a bit 🙂

This feels leaps and bounds better than 26.2.1 on the iPhone 17! Annoying visual stutters here and there are gone, fluidity is buttery smooth and it feels lightning fast opening apps, loading content, swiping, scrolling, safari etc etc. battery life tbc

Finally! Nice one Apple 👌🏻

Not perfect but it’s pretty smooth overall, still more optimization needed.

My biggest annoyance with 26.2.1 was the constant app reloading, and battery life took a big hit ever since I updated to 26.2 from 18.6.3. And this strange blank keyboard that has happened twice, both times it happened when it prompted me to enter passcode. Never looked forward to an update like to 26.3 before.
