  • There are signs of "a new validation system that will check the integrity of the device before logging into Apple ID and iCloud."
So you mean, if you're on iOS 26.4 and 26.5 is out, it will prompt you to update before letting you sign in? How secure of them, and totally not related to coerced updates.

In completely unrelated news, Apple released iOS 18.7.3 today, but it's not available for any phones that support iOS 26.

An improved Siri, yea whatever. Apple are losing their soul - the relentless following of trends, profit margins, subscriptions and prerecorded announcements…

Let's see how that theory holds up... Apple has resisted the release of a foldable phone until the technology can meet their requirements, and they've also resisted releasing a Generative AI-powered Siri until it can also stand up to their higher standards.

I wouldn't say that Apple is just "following trends". People want this stuff, and so they must deliver, but only when all stars align in the sky. This is in contrast to the Google's and OpenAI's of the world that just throw mud at the wall to see what sticks.

Ok, why would there be a "hint" in ios26 for a possible ios28 feature? That just doesn't make sense to me, but that's just me

test builds that have things not removed from them before being pushed to live. may be incomplete features that dont have much more than placeholder code

They don't work on new features in a linear timeline. Internal builds usually have all kinds of features they've been working on, and engineers can then easily disable what's far from ready and usually label which version the feature is expected to be ready in. Unfinished features are removed from beta/public builds.

A great example is that some of the Lock Screen changes in iOS 16 were already present in the leaked internal build of iOS 14 two years earlier.

The sports tier sounds interesting I wonder if they expand beyond f1 into other sports. And I wonder if they lower the price of the general appletv below 12.99
Sports tier as in for an additional $3.99 or $4.99/mo etc you get MLB, MSL, FI etc. and any other lower level sports it can sign up (think college women’s sports etc).

Improvements to photo collections in the Photos app. can we get a photo editor built into OS and iOS? i mean ya'll own Pixelmator now sooooo

Tell me when you see leaks for custom launchers, an actual icon picker, or theme support. Liquid Glass has been so polarizing and Apple continues to not give people choices.
I’m leaking that. Right this moment. Custom launchers, icon picker AND theme support. However, as Apple's plans could change, there is no guarantee that any or all of those features will be released to the general public.

1. If you have credit card information stored in Apple's Passwords app,

Huh? Is that a thing? In autofill and wallet sure, but passwords?

2. Apple is also planning to expand the Health app to the Mac with macOS 28…

This is long overdue. (It’s ridiculous how Apple makes tools for developers to deploy apps across the various platforms but doesn’t use them on home grown apps.
