The "Set Battery Charge Limit" shortcut isn't available for me (iPhone 14 Pro). Is that only for iPhone 15 and newer (the ones that can set a charge limit in Settings)?
I have iPhone 12 mini and it tells me how long it will take to reach 80% on my locked screen. Is it really that technical for my my iPhone?

Quick question: is search in settings broken? I type “Camera” or anothing else in the search bar in settings and it says “no results”.
It’s working for me. I’ve seen people say there are resets that can be done to fix search issues like that. Had to do with search indexing.

"Web Content Filter and Communication Safety are automatically turned on for kids and teens, as well as adults who haven't confirmed their age."

Exactly like I said. No web browsing without providing a government ID. But I'm sure they would never use that to track your browsing. No government has ever spied on its citizens in the history of the world.
I'm not trying to be argumentative. I don't understand how this squares with the published information about the Act.

"
  • Users must prove their age to access websites with adult content or websites that promote harmful subjects
  • Websites must use strict methods to prove users’ age, like:
    • Uploading an ID (passport or driver license)
    • Taking a selfie and using software to verify age by facial pattern matching
    • Confirming your age with a credit or debit card
  • Platforms like Reddit, X (Twitter) and other multi-purpose websites must ensure that minors cannot view adult content.
  • Non-compliant websites can be:
    • Blocked in the UK"
Reference: https://cside.com/blog/uk-internet-age-verification-system-explained-for-cyber-security

So, presumably, "whatever.porn" will block you unless you prove your age. But, you seem to be saying that Apple won't let you run Safari without proving your age?!

Has this actually been confirmed or has Apple made an official announcement somewhere? It's not in the release notes. I upgraded four iPhones, and none of them had SDP turned on even though all requirements needed for it are met...
Yep same here. It wasn’t enabled for me either.

You think your gov doesn’t know who you are till you provide your gov issued ID? There’s a dozen ways to identify you without it. So no, you’re not doing anymore damage by providing one in this case.
If the UK government didn’t need this new snooping tool they wouldn’t have legislated it.

Is anyone else seeing this on iOS 26.4? Since updating, Reminders badges have stopped showing for me on both my iPhone and Mac, even though notifications still come through normally.

I don't think I'm going to be able to verify myself so I'll be stuck on 26.3.1, but one question: will this be a flag on your account, or will you have to reverify every time you reset your phone/buy a new one? Not many questions answered regarding how this all works.

Since upgrading from iOS 18 to iOS 26 on my iPhone 14 Pro, I noticed battery life is horrendous along with the Apple Watch. Just had a new battery put in my iPhone by Apple last month so it’s not related to that. Have everything related to the glass interface turned off along with motion and transparency, didn’t help.
Starting to get buyers remorse. 😵

I used to like using CarPlay, but since they disabled it because I won’t turn Siri on, it’s of no interest to me. And can they pull back the old Apple genius’s from making emojis & get them back on the phone software. Then have all those MS Zune designers, move away from the iOS department.

Wait wait what?? You NEED to have Siri on to use CarPlay? That’s weak, ever since news broke out about goog being used for Siri I turned off Siri and Apple Intelligence…so no CarPlay for me even if I wanted? Ugh smh

Sounds like you’ve got a lot of indexing going on- just give it two weeks or so and if it hasn’t improved go speak with an Apple rep in store or via phone or web…remember, you can try and escalate to a senior manager if you still feel
Lost

Best wishes, go Sox.

I think it is set at account level. so no need to re-verify ever again (...you can't ever grow younger !)

what I don't understand is if I have 2 devices. Risk an old phone and accept that if my account age is not enough and I am not willing to verify with photo id then it becomes an under 18 phone... but then does my whole account become an under 18 account for the purposes of other apple devices which aren't on 26.4 ?

I will not upload photo id.

So, I'm still curious what it is that you can't do on your iPhones in the UK until you age-verify. Can you run your apps but can't see certain things on, say, YouTube, or, does iOS 26.4 just not let you run Safari or YouTube to begin with? Everyone sounds so frantic, but, information on the actual impact is confusing (to me).

I haven’t done it yet and I’m still able to access everything I could before. I can still browse the same sites. Watch what I would normally watch on YouTube. Watch 18 rated movies I purchased on iTunes, listen to explicit songs in Apple Music. I even downloaded tinder as a test as that is an 18+ app but it let me. Maybe I should try grinder or whatever it is called and see if it will let me download that lol

Edit: It let me download grinder.

Do you have significant locations turned on in privacy? That stopped it for me.

Finally, more emoji. Apple is finally innovating with courage again. I can’t wait to see the exciting, new magical bugs that have been introduced from the ground up for Apple Intelligence. They are reimagined new bugs in more exciting colors and textures than ever before. Combined with Liquid Gass Pro, they are light years ahead of the competition. We are going to love them. And the music, it is more musical than ever seen before, packing more notes into a single song than in the audible spectrum. YOur ears will enjoy an experience never, heard, felt or seen - yes our music transcends the audio/visual interface - before. We call it EarVision pro. 26.4 is the most breathtakingly innovative iOS since we introduced the original iPhone.
Yawn. Spare everyone with your nonsense and go switch to Android.

That sounds like expected behavior, but it's a good reminder that Stolen Device Protection can be a PITA sometimes. The whole purpose of Stolen Device Protection would be defeated if a thief was able to get in to set up Face ID for themselves.

Were you not home at the time this happened? If you're at a familiar location, it should let you use your passcode if Face ID isn't working. If you're not at a familiar location, then it should start a 1-hour security delay and show you a notification when you can get back into Settings to do what you wanted.

For familiar locations to work properly, make sure you have 'Significant Locations & Routes' enabled under Location Services > System Services. It'll take some time for the phone to build up some familiar locations if you're just turning it on or setting up a new phone.

Hi!

I want to thank you for your help with this. I would not have known to turn on "Significant Locations & Routes" without your help. When I first saw your post, I turned on that feature for the first time. Also, each day, I attempted to set up an "Alternate Appearance" but it always failed. I couldn't authenticate to Face ID with my almost cleanshaven face. I let my beard grow for a few days. Then this morning, either Face ID was able to recognize me, or I was allowed to set up an "Alternate Appearance" because the combination of my passcode and being in a familiar location helped me. I'm not sure which it was. After recording the alternate appearance, I switched off Stolen Device Protection for the time being. I have a thin beard on my face now, and I'm thinking of shaving that off, and then turning on Stolen Device Protection again. I will see what happens if I do that.

Thanks again for your help!

Bob

Ugh Safari bugs are back where settings are ignored. Refuses to use any tab bar style other than “compact”
having this now out of nowhere. super frustrating. I feel like I keep breaking things with iOS and iCloud.

I have 100,000 empty text messages hiding in the cloud based on messages in iCloud. (only 10,000 of these texts are real). I can delete these and then they still restore when I turn off and on icloud messages.

and google sucks for trying to find others with similar problems.
