Stupid question. About how long does it take for the ipsw to appear? I need to do a full install on my 17 Pro Max. I cannot tell you the last time I downloaded an ipsw.

It's completely random. Sometimes immediately, sometimes around an hour and on rare occasions, a day. But, 26.5.2 and 26.6 b3 IPSW's are available now.

Seems like huge update size discrepancies.

Full installer on my 17 Pro Max was just under 12GB.

Delta from 26.5 on my 15 Pro Max was 2.7GB; 14 Pro was 2.4GB and M5 iPad Pro was 10.3GB.

I think the initial file size is the absolute maximum it could be, but once you start updating your device it works out which chunks of code it needs and just downloads those. Therefore if you’re updating from the previous version, there may not be much to download.

Seems to be running very well so far on my Air, very smooth and fast. Battery doesn’t appear to be draining any quicker following the update.
