Experienced an annoyance with sleep mode in 17 Pro. Tapped the screen to check the time. Screen went to MASSIVE brightness. Unlocked the phone and tried to turn it down, but the screen stayed hugely bright no matter what level I set it at.

Locked it again, and after tapping the screen again it would either be dim or ramp itself up to full brightness. This was in a pitch black bedroom with no reflective surfaces to reflect light back into the sensor.

Intensely annoying. Hoping this is a one-off and I’ll definitely be sending in a bug report. Updated OTA yesterday.

Not a single graphical bug I'm seeing since 26.3 has been fixed in this version.
Also I'm still seeing stutters when scrolling in some native Apple's and 3rd party apps. On my iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 17.7 these stutters are not happening 🤷🏼‍♂️

At this point the "fixes" will be included in iOS27 that'll introduce new bugs, cool 👏🏻

My swipe between Home Screen & App Library was lagging allllll day yesterday but after charging overnight it’s totally gone. Seems it really was indexing. My problems usually don’t fix themselves so I’m surprised 😅

90% of the visual/graphical bugs that came with 26.0 beta 1 haven't been fixed lol. Not deal breakers, but they sure make the experience feel cheap.

Has anyone noticed changes to Attention Awareness in iOS 26.5 RC?

On my iPhone 16 Pro (Face ID with “require attention” + Attention-Aware Features enabled, AOD off), "staring" at the screen no longer reduces the volume of alarms or timers on the lock screen. The lock icon doesn’t react either, as if attention detection isn’t working there.

On iOS 26.4.2 I don’t remember having this issue. Also, when the phone is already unlocked, the alarm tone changes slightly when I look at it, but it doesn’t really lower in volume, it just sounds less harsh.

I’ve toggled the setting, rebooted, and reset Face ID with no change. The rest of the system seems stable with no other issues.

Bug or intentional change? Anyone else seeing this?

Upgrading now. I’m on holiday with a phone full of local eSims. I like to live dangerously, but it’s been fine the last two betas.

The one last week has an issue where the new mail notification comes a while before the badge shows and the email is actually visible. I’ll edit to say how the RC deals with this.

Edit: seems fixed (based on one email only, though).

in the front-page article on 26.5 is a hidden link to a very useful page
Finally you can see the status of all the Carrier features - like RCS E2EE

The drama continues.

Safari is not loading when I first open a site I have to hit reload, thought this was fixed? Apple is so disappointing at this point.

I have a shortcut on the Home screen that allows me to shut down or restart. Simplifies things. I also have it as a link on the bottom right of my lock screen.

With 26.5 RC, it is now showing the incorrect icon. The shortcut on the Home Screen is correct. Just wrong on the lock screen.

iPhone Air.

They're probably putting a low pass filter on it.

Where are these wallpapers located? Thanks!
They’re the new Pride wallpapers, but I created these with custom colors. Scroll to the very very far right and it pulls up 75 colors.

I chose the following:

Light mode
  • page 1, row 1, color 5
  • page 1, row 4, color 5
  • page 2, row 1, color 4
  • page 3, row 4, color 1
  • white
Dark mode
  • page 1, row 1, color 5
  • page 2, row 1, color 4
  • page 3, row 1, color 2
  • page 3, row 5, color 4
  • black

A screenshot woulda been quicker and easier to follow 🫣😊
