iOS 26.5 RC― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Same issue here, minus the exes (my wife would prefer my exes were like yours 🤣🤣🤣)

Interestingly, I have not had mobile issues, but today I had no data connection for about 45 minutes, despite having 2 bars of service. I have Verizon here in the Northeast. I did not get connectivity until it hit 5G UW. Very odd. I am going to do a hard reboot and see how things go from there
 
Not sure if it is an RC issue, but has anyone had issues signing into Gmail account on watch? Getting verification failed. Unpaired and repaired watch didn't fix it.

On my iPhone 16 Pro (Face ID with “require attention” + Attention-Aware Features enabled, AOD off), "staring" at the screen no longer reduces the volume of alarms or timers on the lock screen. The lock icon doesn’t react either, as if attention detection isn’t working there.

On iOS 26.4.2 I don’t remember having this issue. Also, when the phone is already unlocked, the alarm tone changes slightly when I look at it, but it doesn’t really lower in volume, it just sounds less harsh.

I’ve toggled the setting, rebooted, and reset Face ID with no change. The rest of the system seems stable with no other issues.

Bug or intentional change? Anyone else seeing this?

For comparison, I tested attention-aware to reduce the volume of timer alarms:iOS 14.6.2.

The test:
1. start a 5-sec timer;
2. turn the phone away from my face;
3. wait for alarm to ring;
4. turn the phone toward my face.

Result: If the phone had been locked, the volume did not decrease; if the phone had been unlocked, the volume decreased at step 4.


iPhone 15 pro
iOS 14.6.2 (Release)
Require Attention for Face ID and Attention Aware Features are both enabled.

Already tried removing it and re-adding it. Still same issue. It mirrors phone so email is there when phone is around. What's weird is that I just tested it by turning iPhone off and left watch on cellular only and emails came through on the watch. So not sure if it is just a cosmetic bug, but if it got emails while phone was off, I'm assuming it is signed in on watch despite it still indicating to sign in.
 
I often liked the pride wallpapers but this year it’s definitely my highlight of the iOS release 26.5
Really nice with the customisable colours. OS overall totally fine. Still some smaller animation issues but this won’t get fixed before iOS 27 I guess. Won’t complain too much. Huge progress songs if we think back to the 26.0 release.

I’ve had this since iPadOS 26 on both my M4 iPad Pro when I had it and my M5 iPad Pro. Drives me nuts. A freaking M5 chip and it still randomly looks slower than a base iPad at 60Hz.

I’ve only been able to get around it by restarting - same for you?

Sometimes just locking it for a few moments and unlocking it or going full screen on an app if I’m in Split View or multitasking view fixes it. But if it doesn’t, then I have to restart too.

No it's not and that picture of the iPhone with settings you posted is fake... like what does actually "Apple Intelligence and Siri plend am onite date an update the rearainw" mean?
Also the blue toggle - do they even use blue toggles anywhere in settings app? Also the toggles are rounded and at the top left the go back to settings trigger - that's pre iOS 26 design.

At this point they're not going to include new Gemini Siri in iOS 26 at all, they're waiting for iOS 27.

GOT ME! haha, nice spoof tho - I spent forty seconds, kinda excited. The emotion of it killed all my reasoning

I don’t speak Apple with great confidence or efficacy. I come off sounding like, you know, a customer. Customers have been complaining about Apple software for years… and look, we still are. That tells you who The Powers That Be at Apple don’t listen to. You need someone TPTB actually will listen to.

I am joking… but, not really.
