What device?
26.6 has been the best update out of a bad bunch in recent months. Fast, running cooler, smooth & no stutters on my Air.
Battery life also improved, could’ve got at least 7hrs of screen time yesterday if I’d run it right to 0%.

Since updating my Ipad M4 and Iphone 17 Pro to 26.6 my photolibrary is not synchronising anymore over the devices by Icloud. I worked perfect on 26.5.2. No settings changed.
Any help or suggestions would be appriciated how to make it working again.

16 Pro here and initially this feels like a very good update. Almost got 2 1/2 day of one charge and that hasn't happened in a long time. I'm not using the phone as much as I usually do, that could be one reason and have been mostly on wifi, but still good numbers.
What apps are on the top of the list of what you have been using? Are you using cellular network mostly or wifi? Is your local storage maxed out? Whats your battery status?
Could be a load of other things of course but since we have such a different experience on the same iphone model it's interesting to compare.
Did all this start when you updated or has it been going on for some time?
Is anyone experiencing lag with iOS 26.6? I have a 14 Pro that until a few days ago worked very well with iOS 26.5.2, now with 26.6 I have lag everywhere
A bug I was encountering on iPadOS26.5 with the time picker in Calendar.app and some other apps that used the ‘time wheel’ has been fixed. (I find it quicker to type the time than use the wheel, but couldn’t type the time as only a small slice of the number pad rendered.)

Yes it lags on scrolling , switching app even writing right now is a bit of laggy. I have iPhone 17 pro max and now it feel something like iPhone 7 it work but what the heck

Haven't seen this on any of the devices I have updated. But I wonder if it could be related to the new iOS 27 index rebuild and that it's stealing resources from the device? None of the device I am using have AI enabled and that might also be a reason why I haven't seen it.

I’ve already updated my test-drive iPhone SE 3 to iOS 26.6 and it seems to run very smooth and have good battery life. I’ve tested the battery drain with the GeekBench 4 battery test, and the results are slightly above average.
Given how many security patches does iOS 26.6 have, (I think it’s one of the iOS releases with more security patches) I’d really recommend updating. If possible, a wired update through a Mac or PC, as this copies the whole operating system image to the system volume.
If you made an OTA update and you see bugs or battery drain, I would encourage you to make a manual backup of your photos and files, grab a computer, put the iPhone in DFU mode, and make a clean install of iOS 26.6

I’m really intrigued by this… my awesome iPhone SE 3 doesn’t support Apple Intelligence, so I guess there’s no need for it to perform this reindexing, right?
Actually I updated my test iPhone SE 3 to 26.6 and I haven’t seen any text in settings regarding this re-indexing…
The little bits of lag on my 17 pro started on 26.5 and continue with 26.6. It’s weird.
First thing in the morning I pull it off the charger and open it up and swipe on screen over to my cat feeder app and it drops frames like crazy and when i open the app it takes it like 7 full seconds to open in and the app is laggy to respond for like the first few seconds. After 10-15 seconds go by everything is fine… so weird. It’s not just that app it’s all of them when it’s the first thing I do in the morning. Throughout the day I get little home screen swiping hiccups that I never had before 26.5 either… not sure what’s happening. It feels like the phone is doing a mini reboot up first thing the majority of the mornings.
So weird. Sometimes it’s fine but lately it’s like 3-4 days out of the week. A little bummed out but everything else is great. Battery life is insane for me still on this thing. I set it to 80% charge and I still have like 40-50% by the end of the day left. Guess I’m a light user considering i get 3-4 SOT a day. My 2 cents.

New Iphone 14 Pro Max - No AI obviously, but this 26.6 update has caused me no end of Siri non-activation issues that I never had before this update. Basically any 'Siri' or 'Hey Siri' commands frequently fail to invoke Siri - no Siri Orb, nothing. Can try multiple times regardless of exterior noise or silence in background. Only solution is to hard reset iPhone and it returns.
Have heard of this Spotlight indexing rubbish, so have disabled all background app refreshing in case this has anything to do with it, but I'm not impressed. Worse is when I exit wireless CarPlay and need my phone to go into a store to use a specific app and ask Siri to launch it - then find I have to faff about for 10 minutes restarting the phone. Bloody annoying.

I, despite being eager to jump to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, I’ll wait until the 27.2 or 27.3 version…
I’ll perform clean installs of iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, and macOS 26.6, and stay there until holidays, when I’ll jump directly to the 27.2 or 27.3 version.
Although, if the reports of the early versions are good, maybe I’ll do the upgrade with 27.1 instead. I still don’t know.

It looks really comfortable to use on an iPad. You’re comparing it with the iPhone interface. Not everything about new versions is bad, you know?

I know, that’s why I checked on my iPad too (which runs iPadOS 18) and it looks just like on my phone.
Funnily enough, the only design change I like is the camera app icon… because it looks like the one on iOS 6.
