Hi. I have an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 26.5, which has been very stable. It doesn’t overheat or have any issues. If I update to iOS 26.6, is it just as stable?

My 15 pro is running 26.6 just fine still have almost enough battery for 2 days and no glitches.
Finally........finally.........FINALLY a halfway decent & stable iOS!!!!
My M1 iPad pro is - with minimal use - at 65% after ~10 hours off the charger. Previously, under almost ANY other version of 26, it would be down to at least 40-30% by now.
My iPhone 16 pro; I basically had to just constantly keep it on a charger on my desk. Whenever it came off the charger, I would be at ~30% within 2 hours, MAX.
SO FAR, iOS 26.6 seems ACTUALLY stable, does NOT cook my phone, battery is normal......and oh; it's definitely faster, smoother, more fluid - as iOS SHOULD BE and has always been known for......
Holy Cow apple, never do this again. I'm going to be a LOT more careful before upgrading to major iOS versions in the future.....

I've never had nearly as many issues with ANY prior version of iOS, as I have with 26.
I keep thinking to myself; "how much worse can it get? It CAN'T get any worse...."
And with each update, Apple keeps proving me more & more wrong.
If you do not have any issues and are happy with how your device is running on 26.5; LEAVE IT.
I'm FINALLY happy, as 26.6 seems to have FINALLY shaken off the awful overheating issues, ridiculous battery drain, and overall garbage theme.
IF it ain't broke, do NOT fix it. iOS 26 is NOT the version to be experimenting with.
Let's be real; iOS 26.0 was not even alpha software. It should never have been publicly released, let alone as so-called "production" software.
I have never complained as much - but I've never had nearly as many issues - as I have about iOS 26. Each version keeps introducing new bugs and apple has found a magical way to make each update worse & worse & worse.
FINALLY with 26.6, my phone isn't cooking itself, the battery lasts longer than ~3 hours, and it actually runs smoothly, as we've come to expect from iOS.
If you aren't on the actual final public version of 26.6, I'd install that. Apple is clearly high AF as to what constitues publicly appropriate software, so the fact its an "RC" in reality (for 26) means it's alpha software.

I'm optimistic about 27, and the very little reading I've done affirms that it's largely a "bug fix, polish, improve what we've got" release and not any really major new features.
Still; iOS 26 has been so utterly awful for me, I'm definitely going to also wait until at least 27.2 or .3 before I upgrade again.
Each version of 26 kept getting worse & worse & worse.

iOS 26.6 is more stable than 26.5 for sure (iPhone Air) The last few 26.5.X releases were poor. I’d recommend everyone update!

I might jump onto iOS 27 at the end of August. It does seem it’s going be a mainly stability improving release and not many new features, I’m ok with that after the car crash that has been iOS 26.

U.K based just looked at AppleCare One and my 16PM and Ultra 3 on 26.6 Betas both devices are not showing up on the eligibility list.

I'm guessing its an index that will be used with or without AI and that it replaces the old one. Would be strange to have two different types. But I have no idea tbh. Haven't seen any notifications of a reindex task going on.
It's still interesting how users have such different experience on the same type of device, sure it could be a number of other things interfering, all from HW issues to settings, 3rd party software, network issues, unique settings or functions such as having AI enabled that steal resources.
Have anyone of you 26.6 users out there seen anything when it comes to the new spotlight reindexing going on in terms of notifications or information screens?

What happened to ChatGPT? It can’t be used any longer after the update and is greyed out. I read somewhere else where it can be activated by telling Siri to “Enable ChatGPT” but this doesn’t work for me. Someone else said they had to type to Siri to get it to work. But type to Siri is gone too.

Haven't noticed, but I did notice that it feels a tad bit slower when clicking the camera button to start.
Might have been like this for a while but have been using my phone for quick snaps and using the dedicated camera button and was wondering if it always has been this slow to start.

Yes; for example SMS message search comes back with a minging set of pictures that have nothing to do with the search, they seem to be advertisements.
This is hateful. As soon as you click on the search input field, those hideous adverts appear and there's no way that I can see of stopping them. There's even the hideous faecesbook and other cack which I've never used nor never will use.

I’m pretty sure all that stuff can be deactivated. See if you can deactivate it on Settings > Siri & Spotlight search, or something like that.
Would you mind sharing a video of the screen with all of that happening, or even just a screenshot, hiding your personal stuff?

Decided I am going to wait a few years to see how the foldables mature. Just got a brand new iPhone 16 & 26.6 is stellar on it. Everything smooth, no stutters, & it cooled down to normal use within 12 hours after updated to 26.6 & restoring from 14 Pro (battery charge stayed at 100% overnight with no connection to charging cable).
Man, that 14 Pro was a brick with an Apple leather case. Have a very slim plastic case on the 16 & it feels light as a feather. Getting $150 for my 13 Mini & $335 for the 14 Pro with the 26.6 performance has really made this upgrade an experience I have not had with Apple in a very long time.

I've heard that Microsoft and Apple are in discussion regarding Microsoft Company Portal app that uses Teams and Outlook and that iOS 26.6 / iOS 18.7.9 stopped them working and broke it for enterprise/organisations and told them to not to update unless they already have. Microsoft couldn't fix it, only workaround would be to uninstall the Microsoft Portal app and install again. This would take hours for enterprise iPhones/iPad to do and a headache for each employee! That is why I believe iOS 26.6.1 / iOS 18.7.10 are in Beta for them to carry out tests with businesses to see if it is a fix.
Has anyone had CarPlay connection issues with Honda’s? My 17 Pro hardly connects. I do IPSW updates, hard restart, reboot the headunit, factory reset the headunit, changed cables..
