Just out of curiosity, is there a lot of data being sent to and from your device? And do you use VPN services?

Its hard to track the amount of WiFi data being sent on the iPhone without an app, but there are apps such as "usage device monitor" and many others than can give an idea. Would be interesting to see what's going on in the background on your device.
I don't use VPN. I downloaded the app you mentioned but I don't see anything major.
To be honest my use case hasn't changed for years now, it's been the same, the same apps all the time.

Would bring it in to Apple to have a look at it. I remember when I had a iPhone 6s that were only a few months old that all of a sudden had horrible battery time. They ran a diagnose and established that the battery was faulty and swapped in on warranty. Same thing happened a year later. Got a new battery without having to pay for it.
That time I think it was fairly known it was a bad batch of batteries, but who knows. Might be the same in your case since you have had the issue for so long and nothing that you do seem to help.

Glad I came here to see I’m not alone. 26.5.2 has brutally murdered and dismembered my Air’s battery life. I’m charging multiple times a day on light use and getting terrible stutter and lag everywhere. It feels like there’s a memory leak somewhere.

It’s pants! Burning through charge cycles isn’t good. Crazy we’re so late into iOS 26 releases that still can’t sort out performance and battery drain issues! I doubt 26.6 will be any better.

I was under the impression that the latest update gave your Air better battery time? Was it only initially and then it went downhill?

Initially it seemed to have improved along with the software bugs & glitches, it since went downhill like previous 26.x.x updates in both areas.
Ah what a shame. Seems like some 17 pro and air users hasn't seen much improvement over the last few updates.
16 Pro here and its feels like its getting better after every update.
Funny enough the regular 17 or 17e hasn't had many reports about bad battery performance. The only major HW difference between the air/17 pro vs 17/17e is the memory size.

Any heat issues so far? I’m faring at 800+ cycles and didn’t go to the 85% battery health mark yet; I’m still at 90% on iOS 27 beta 2.
Heated quite a lot the first 2 weeks. though i have to say its a pretty warm summer in my country right now so that adds to it. Since last week it suddenly went quite a lot better, in terms of heat and battery. It kind of returned to ios 18 ish levels.

But one thing stays and its that it lags far to much than i have ever had in the last 10 IOS. Hopefully this is not the case anymore with ios 27. But im definitely waiting for a x.5 release or march-may build.

Was playing around with an iPhone 13 on iOS 26.5.2 that had 76% battery health and man what a difference in terms of performance from a usability perspective. The phone was lagging quite a bit and was from time to time not a very good user experience.
Sure, the phone will throttle the CPU and other components but never thought it would be so noticeable. Have messed around with a good few iPhone 13 with a healthy battery on iOS 26 and that was a completely different experience.

Not saying the CPU/GPU throttling feature is a bad thing but it was very noticeable when it was active on device with below 80% battery health.

I feel the same, but my 15 pro didn't have awful hot flashes than the other time .

Yeah ios 26 is giving me some instances were it just gets hot as if i was playing a demanding game when im actually not by just using safari, instagram or just any other app. This specially happens when using cellular but not as much in wifi
I felt the same way when I was just doing browsing or viewing stuff. Like this was absurd. This years iOS 27 beta didn’t have this abnormal behavior.

Aside from that problem with the charge limit which has carried over from 26.5.2… battery drain seems to be improved with 26.6, overnight drain was lower and currently at 40 mins of screen time since coming off the charger.
