Beta 5 of iOS 26- decent battery life ever. This is the longest I’ve endured from the charge limit. Let’s see how long it will take to hit the twenty percent mark!

Hi, iPhone 16 pro max , with latest ios 26 beta 6 version. So i have an issue since this betas. The thing is that the phone after all night charging, it is 100% charged, I unplug it and after literally 6 min I was already 99%, but the thing is, I took and force restarted the phone and it jumped to 94%. And after a few minutes I restarted it again and it jumped to 91%. All that in less than 10 minutes.

After two or more restarts it remained at the same %

But it seems to be happen a lot.
Also my battery health went from 100% to 91% from beta 1 to beta 5, with only around 340 cicles

How can I solve it? Anyone experiencing the same?

I jumped from iOS 18.6 to iOS 26 beta 5 on my 16PM. Battery life is worse than any other beta I tried before, at the end of the day I have 20-30% less than usual left with my normal usage. But it's fine, it's a beta after all!

I’ve found the first two days post-install to be bad for battery life, but things settle down after that. Certainly has been the case with beta 3 and 4 and assume/hope will be the same with beta 5. How much of that is due to background optimisation etc versus new beta excitement and increased use I can’t scientifically say! Edit: 14PM here.

Wow, look at that garbage reporting system. How much screen-on time did you get? Well, absolutely no idea. Utterly and completely useless. Change for the sake of change. The person who designed this is appalling, they should know immediately that that screen provides absolutely no information. Pointless.

Literally same thing here and I have the blue iPhone 15 Pro. Was this happening in any previous beta? I can tell you don’t have charge limits in place.

Until 19% this is how it represents:

And also y’all beta 5 iOS 26 also changed the low battery indicator in Dynamic Island. Now it has a prompt to turn on low power mode.

They’ve added a flashing effect to let you know your iPhone battery is low, which is great! I totally get what you mean about the Dynamic Island update. It would be awesome if it had a clearer button to switch on low power mode. Also, it’s supposed to replace the old low battery message that was on the models before the iPhone 14 Pro, which did have a low power mode button. When it switched to the Dynamic Island on newer iPhone models, it just says “low battery,” which is a bit confusing.

You cannot « solve » battery health degradation. It will happen eventually no matter what you do.

iOS recalibrates (or rather re-estimate) the battery health after each update, so of course you are more likely to see a fast drop during beta season rather than when you are on the stable branch with updates every months or so.

You phone is almost one year old and getting closer and closer to 500 cycles, so being at 91% isn’t abnormal.

Just use your phone and replace it or the battery when you feel like it doesn’t last long enough for your needs.

I agree with you.
I charge 15 Pro Max twice / thrice per day on iOS 26 Beta 5 and after downgrade to 18.6 I charge it once per 1.5 day!
iOS 26 Beta 5 for night consumes 10-12%
iOS 18.6 - 6%

Beta 5 was actually decent battery life for me, but beta 6 is slightly worse. Still better than early versions.

Hey there! Could you please let me know which iPhone model you’re using, how much battery health capacity it has, and if you’re taking any battery-saving measures?

Today, my 15 Pro didn’t drain much. I went to the gym for two hours when my iPhone was still at 65%, never had to use the MagSafe power bank. It only lost about 10% of its battery life, went down to like 60% after I finished.

I installed Beta 6 on my iPhone 11 Pro. No stutters, generally happy, but battery usage is significantly higher. It used 15% in 6 hours when I was sleeping. You'd say it's indexing and doing some tasks but it was not plugged in, so it should've used 4% or so on idle.

Was there any heat issues with your iPhone? When my 15 pro drains it does do that in the early builds of the iOS 26 beta.

I’ve installed dev beta 6 on my 16 pro yesterday coming from public 18.6.

Phone was scorching hot first few hours and battery drain was insane (-50% in less than 3 hours). The next day it’s noticeable better but still phone often feels warm during regular use.

No heat issues. Today was a bit better but I had charging issues with my fast charger, it just wouldn't charge, so I'm trying to restore 18.5 for hours.

Oh, really? MagSafe or not? You know, my iPhone tends to pause charging if it gets too hot while using MagSafe, unless it’s super cool inside the room with air conditioning especially during the summer. I usually use it when I need a slow charge and the iPhone is almost full of battery.

Hey, my beta testing iPhone buddies! I stumbled upon this video today on my YouTube feed that talks about some common charging and battery myths and how to avoid them.

By the way, I already knew a lot of these things before watching, but it’s a great overview. Also, if you’re using an iPhone 14 or earlier, and you’re thinking about MFi certified lightning cables, you absolutely need them. Even the best third-party cables and MagSafe chargers you can find at the Apple Store are often cheaper on Amazon or at department stores. I saw Belkin MagSafe docks for $16-20 and Courant MagSafe pucks for $8 at Marshall’s and TJX.

Installed beta 6 yesterday evening. I’m not an intense user. I tend to use my Pro Max 16 intermittently throughout the day as for making calls, texting, taking photos, setting reminders, making notes, and occasional surfing. For this routine use, I’m not seeing degraded performance in beta 6. Started the day at 100% and ending now at 73%. That’s about the same as 18.6. Phone was warm, not hot, immediately after installation of beta 6 but that lasted only a few hours.

So far so good.
