Really hating the “Share Your Name & Photo” prompt at the top of the Messages app…
Did you set it up, maybe it vanishes afterwards?

Feels overkill to have 2 places for that, seeing as it's also accessible in the dropdown context menu. Hope they change that in future betas.

I was pretty disappointed when they removed the updates tab in the App Store app, but removing the option when you long press/right click on the App Store app is pretty hostile lol

They really did that? Can you screenshot it? I can’t believe it! I use this option more than one time a day !

Guys, please let me know if after the update your system is completely slow, with choppy transitions, sluggishness, and your iPhone overheating.

If they keep this design with no option to tweak or turn off the horrible glass effect I may have to jump **** to the Pixel 10 Pro.

I know is beta 1 but god damn is it ugly. I highly recommend everyone to check out some videos before you even think of making the jump.

Can you remind me just how easy/hard it is to restore back? Keen to give it a crack bit I do not want to spend all day messing with my phone.
It’s very easy, just restore using the 18.5 IPSW.

It’ll wipe your phone but you’ll just restore via iCloud or a saved back-up locally.

Everyone should expect these things to happen after installing the 1st beta (an 'N' build) of an Operating System that won't be released for another 4 months.
I know. But there's definitely something wrong with my device since I'm not seeing anyone else commenting about the same issues I'm having. I'm formatting the device to see if a clean installation solves it.

Safari extensions are not working. I have Hush and Firefox Focus installed and I cannot activate them via Safari settings.

On my iPhone 15 pro, it seems very slow. I assume it's still doing the initial setup every iOS beta install does, but I've never seen it this slow. Also I noticed there is something wrong with magsafe charging. Sometimes it charges and other times it stops and starts, or stops and never starts charging again. Anyone else have that issue with magsafe?
Yes this is the same issue I have with my iPhone 15 pro with 2 QI2 certified magsafe batteries. I also have a magsafe 3-in-1 desktop charger and it got to 80% charging and stopped. Plugged in to a charging brick with a usb-c cable, all works fine. I did notice today that it will stay above 80% now with a magsafe battery since I used a usb-c cable to charge, but it still stops and starts.

Trying to determine any impact on battery right now would be a fool's errand. With all of the extra indexing and logging it's doing, not to mention all the new APIs that may indirectly impact apps already on the phone.. Just wait two weeks and update to beta 2, and it'll start all over again.

I don't think they'll be around these parts anymore :-(
What happened?

I´ve updated my ipad mini 7 to iPadOS26. What happens, if I update my Airpods pro 2 with the iPad to the new beta firmware and then use the Airpods with my iPhone on iOS 18.5?

Anybody tried this already?
The newer features don't work I think but that's it

Installed on my spare 14Pro, it runs smooth and the phone is cool to the touch. I'm not sure what I think about the liquid glass design.
OTA is broken after this update, if this is still broken when beta 2 is out, we might need to update with the IPSW file.
Yes it comes with a "error checking for updates" error

Has anyone outside the US gotten the Airpods beta software notification? I tried to enable it in dev mode but it just takes me to the Bluetooth Menu, and inside my Airpods settings there is no toggle as I've seen some post here....

Also.. Its seems curious to me that only my phone (15P) is hot like the sun and sometimes the display binks pink, I have it running on an M1 iPad and it does not heats up like the phone and it's way smoother over there though i do get some pink binks here and there so who knows.

Also, also, try setting up a "3D wallpaper" and feel your phone melt steel.... geez!!!!!

There use to be a message under Battery Settings that told you the system was doing stuff and so battery and performance would be impacted.. not seeing it on this new version but I bet it's doing the same so let's hope heat and battery gets to acceptable levels or I'll be waiting for the Public Beta (so happy i refused to upgrade the Watch or i'd be stuck)

Morning after, phone is still laggy across the UI. Anyone else think the gradients / shadows at the top and bottom of Safari are super ugly?
There are a few things that annoy me. The gradients in Safari are one of them. It is especially annoying when the gradient falls over the content of the site.

The other one, and I know this is the whole concept, is that glass notification coming in. It really misses contrast and looks just not so nice. Maybe if they use a darker shade in light mode, it will be better.
