They definitely tuned the glassyness down.

If you don’t scroll rather flat and “normal”

as soon as you scroll, the glass effect kicks in

Not sure if I like it …
If so, maybe it's a good trade-off. Let the user become accustomed to where the controls are and what they do, and then let it fade away a touch as you scroll, without disappearing (although they do reduce to a single button in some cases). So it's like three levels of intensity.

I'm not sure I like it either, but I can see the logic.

Still can’t change my password from my iPhone. I have a password, not a… one-digit passcode?

The only decent bit of Liquid Glass that I can see is when you pull down the notification screen slowly.

The rest is more frosted glass. We need a ‘liquid slider’ option.
It seems that the notifications screen now is a "thicker" glass. Still seems unresolved what should the background be when you invoke the notification screen because it goes straight from the app to show the wallpaper.

Preview got bumped to the top of my Recently Added in App Library even though I didn't delete it in the previous betas. Weird, but whatev.

I still for some reason cannot adjust my Lock Screen wallpaper from Lock Screen... It has to do with something on my phone at this point because a full restore it works, but then restoring from iCloud and getting my stuff back on my phone, it doesn't... god this is annoying

When restoring do you get your saved wallpapers back? Have you tried erasing all of them?

Lockdown mode now has option to disable 3G as well as 2G cellular networks?
I didn't notice that before, maybe it's been there since the first beta....

So iOS 26 is just a fresh coat of paint and even that isn’t that new, why advertise liquid glass and make it like iOS 18. This isn’t the update we all deserve and years in the making. Such a shame they have removed most of the liquid glass in this beta
It was likely removed because of optimization issues; it’ll likely come back by the end of the cycle. Perhaps let’s not make assumptions when there are still 5 betas left.

Design should go bold, but then common sense and usability needs to walk it back. Otherwise your phone would now be as thin as a quarter, get 1 hr battery life, and bend if you just looked at it funny.

Granted they should have spent the last two years doing more than Apple Intelligence and Liquid Glass.

I’m gonna hold off for now and stay on beta 2 as it’s caused me no problems since installing. I’ve had one frozen screen and one WhatsApp crash but apart from that, it’s been great.

I do seem to accidentally swipe back when scrolling emails on this iOS though compared to how it used to be. Don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s way more sensitive! 🤣

Seems to me like a natural step with the beta, the first beta toned the Liquid Glass look way up. Which is probably what you want for a beta and then Apple took some stuff from that and changed a little in Beta 2. Now with B3 they go and tone it down and see what the reactions are from that, it's not like iOS 26 is out fully next week, they'll change it back up again probably for B4 and so on.
