Super annoyed with how these betas started out as Liquid Glass but now are just Windows Vista.

Oh, and my MBP doesn't even see a beta.
Yeah even the iOS 26 Apple preview site still shows it looking like beta 1 with liquid glass so if they don’t ship that, then that’s another promise not given. The main selling point was liquid glass so if we don’t get that then it’s another mid step with Apple

The issue is they shouldn’t have to listen to feedback they should have designed this years ago and made sure it was what we will get and they should tell us what we need not the other way round. Look at the photos up etc they keep walking back on stuff, something is very wrong with the software team. They used to be ahead of the game. There are twitter users making better liquid glass renders and icons etc. Apple is disappointing, this beta is making iOS 26 look more and more like iOS 18 and we don’t even have exciting new features like split screen multitasking. What have the team been working on for years. The whole main point of iOS 26 was liquid glass and that has been changing between betas for the worse. It isn’t even liquid glass anymore
Look, Apple is a tiny startup with limited resources, operating on the bleeding edge. The ALL NEW Liquid Glass design language is truly a game changer. Unfortunately, at the very last minute before releasing Beta 3, the best, most powerful version of OS 26 that Apple has ever released, Apple discovered the some of the Liquid Glass just wasn’t quite ready to delight customers. So, they had to pull it back. But, don’t worry, because now there is a clear upgrade path for the ALL NEW Liquid Glass, ensuring years of profits to come!

First impressions on beta 3

On iPad there’s a lovely bug with the keyboard that cuts the top of the enter key. (Image attached)

These are my first impressions, I’ll post anything else I notice.

Which keyboard is that? My standard keyboard doesn’t look like that.

Anyone able to add a shortcut on the homescreen from Safari? I just get a dead page.

First of all, this is a two week build, so I'm sure this isn't the extend of the changes Apple has lined up for the UI. This is classic post-Jobs Apple, though - make a change, but implement an extreme version of that and see how people react. And then iterate and tweak based on the feedback. We saw the first attempt at this type of beta UI iteration in iOS 7 and we've seen it repeated in subsequent betas (Safari unified address bar, anyone?).

I like to look at it this way: at least they listen to feedback. They could pull an Ives and say "FU" to changes.

A few other things I’ve noticed.

Quite a few places where there isn’t symmetry (not something I normally notice but here we are, images attached)
It finally seems like the swipe to delete bug is fixed in mail
The news widget seems to be working in the “widget panel”
It seems to fix the issue on Apple Watch of having “update Apple account settings” in the settings app

Task switched animation seems broken opening it.

Think my animation performance chugging was due to adaptive mode, trying with it disabled.

I would fully expect that immediately after an OS update. Need to give it some time (day or two) before making any performance judgements.

I guess. There have been lots of betas in the past where you could immediately tell that things got smoothed out.

Yes, thankfully!

Thankfully yes. I don’t fault the betas for having bugs, but going a month with that issue was tedious. I had to do so much copy link > open new tab > paste and go.
Oh thank god. This alone is reason enough to update ASAP! It was really the only thing seriously impeding usability of the beta for me, I’m glad we won’t have to work around it anymore.

Astronomy wallpaper is broken, shows zoomed in home screen view on AOD instead of same globe on lockscreen.

OS general jitter is still there for me. Don't think it's till running warm though but not from that since only used for a couple hours so far.

Timer via Siri still not working.

Let's see if keyboard still freezes/crashes apps.
