iOS 26 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I couldn’t wait for the public beta and downloading the developer now. I don’t want to test a build which isn’t the latest anymore. Both versions should be the same.

Lockscreen clock is still bugged. If you stretch it any bigger than the default, it jumps to fully stretched and back when the screen is locked. After an unknown amount of time, it goes back to the default small size and stays there while the wallpaper stays put as if the clock is still larger.

Cell service is terrible on this beta. I was in a the area with so so coverage and the phone was burning a hole in my pocket. Plus iPhone app is just stupid. You have to click bunch of buttons to get to what could be an unread item. Back to classic mode.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if all these changes with glass and new design of contacts and phone app could be just turned off by selecting a classic setting somewhere in the settings. I would hope that Apple have some kind of KPI to measure that and realize that all their hard work, and all these betas, and all these bugs are result of worthless changes that people don’t even use.

This is one of the worst iOS updates beta cycles that I have been a part of going back all the way to when the first started.

One thing my phone does reliably now is stay warm.

Is swiping right on the home screen supposed to do anything now. It just momentarily blurs the screen. Feels like it should either 1/ have a function, or 2/ do nothing! But blurring the screen isn’t anything.

I’ve not had it where promotion drops massively and gets stuck as a stuttering mess for a while in this build, hopefully the next few betas keep working on performance optimisation.

Guess I’m going to have to change my wallpaper because I have these ugly sharp shadows under my app icons now that weren’t there prior to this beta.
