Wow, battery life is truly amazing on the 16 Pro --- a beautiful small phone used to be crippled by battery life.
At least under my routine use, from 11:00am to 12:00pm, the battery has still 54% left and that is truly amazing because I have used in above 35 centigrade heat on 5G Advanced network with frequent messaging and social network browsing, and that I have used it to take some photos (be it within a chat app, or use the Camera app). But I had AOD off, in previous iOS either the iOS18 or the iOS26 betas, AOD off only slightly helped with standby, but the juice went just the same between OS builds, FYI.

So you used the battery for an hour and are down to 54%? My battery is terrible on the 16 pro (wasn't that good on IOS18 either). The rumored air device is going to have terrible battery life with the rate IOS26 is going.

It's probably been mentioned if it's a widespread issue, but does Weather keep asking for location permission for anyone else?

These betas definitely chew through battery. Maybe by Beta 7 it won't completely suck.

Not sure precisely where it got fixed, but it seems like throughout these betas they finally fixed the issue of certain wallpapers with near-white tops making the clock/battery/etc indicator illegible. That had been a problem for like 2+ years.

Anyone knows if the 1% Battery / 0% Battery Health Problem is fixed on Beta 5?

I'd like to know as well. Just had my battery replaced in May but as the service shop didn't use an actual Apple branded battery (unbeknownst to me at the time) it's been 1% after installing with every build. Apple feedback came back on my bug report with "Investigation complete - Works as currently designed". what a load.

Sad to hear this. I was hoping PB 2 would resolve the worst of it on my iPad but I expect much of the same then and will begin rolling back right now. Too many people agree with you and this is precisely the issues I experience too in PB 1.

I haven’t complained because I’m pretty used to betas, but this one is pretty abnormal in this department of battery use, heat, and stutters basically everywhere for me. I might even have to await initial reviews of the GM at this point. It’s too bad, because otherwise it has been surprisingly solid for me despite all the changes.

I can confidently say that stuttering is much reduced on beta 5 (soon to be PB 2). The scrolling stuttering is effectively gone for me and the home screen animations are much smoother.

iOS 18 only had 6 public betas. At this rate, we could see at least 3 or 4 PBs between now and launch.

ok tell me this isn’t my imagination, in the screen shot the widgets are slanted to the left and not level right? Top row weather seems to be the worst.

They are level. It’s the gradient edge which make’s them look “on the wonk”.

There won’t be the 100% solution for everyone.
Some want it more glassy, others like you more frosty and better readable. I doubt that apple can implement a perfect and mostly dynamic solution.

Ironic, since neither liquid nor glass cast shadows.

Maybe that’s why the “shadows” inexplicably disappeared today without me having to change anything 😂

I can read it just fine, as I feel like majority iPhone users will. People with visual impairment can use reduce transparency. And maybe Apple will make it an option when you first turn on a new iPhone or when you update.

Does anyone else have this issue? I get a white and/or black screen when using visual Intelligence on an iPhone 15 pro max when clicking an item to look at from results using the (Google) Search option.
