This visual glitch when you first open a conversation thread in the Messages app is still present. Yuck.

The bug in the Messages app where the text box glitches out for a second as two components then meshes together as soon as you click into a conversation is still there. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. It's quite un-Apple, surprised it isn't fixed by now.

Submitted feedback - FB19739186 for those who are interested.

I think anything that‘s not fixed by now is going to hit RC come September, so learn to live with this annoying UI bug.

Sigh.. video game frame-stutter is unfortunately still present.

Ever since iOS 26 beta was released, games no longer reliably run at the native frame rate of the devices (tested with multiple games on both the 14 Pro and iPad Mini 7). Whether it's 120fps or 60fps, there's frequent random stutters that bring down the fps by like 30-50% for as long as like 15 seconds. No amount of changing settings like reduce motion fixes it.

It's obnoxious and a lesson in patience for next year to wait for the stable release instead.

So every toggle now when you tap it shows the Liquid Glass bubble, starting in beta 6, but the WiFi toggle does not. It just abruptly switches. You’ll see the animation if you drag it, but tapping it doesn’t.
Ah I see now. Yes correct wifi button is the same as it was in B6. Abrupt switch if tapped, glass bubble if pressed (sorta defeats the purpose because you can hardly see it if pressed) Thanks for clarification.

Can anyone else with a Hotmail/Outlook account confirm that emails being marked as read or deleted in the Mail app are having these changes actually reflected on the server/in Outlook and are not just confined to the Mail app?
This does not appear to be happening with Gmail or other accounts.
Yes it works both ways with outlook.com address quickly. Also Gmail for me is also working. However gmail does not support push in Apples mail app so it has to fetch/refresh if it marked as read on server first. But reading on mail app marks as read on server within a few seconds.

Why does my Public Beta software update list as 1.18GB and titled “iOS 26.0” and that’s it? No “beta _” identifier or anything.

Hmm we will. Guess as well that we won’t see a lot of noticeable changes in beta 8 and the RC anymore.
Further visual improvements and probably noticeable changes will come with the .1 release and the ones after.

FB19745355 (Mail App message side padding visual conflict with window controls and corner mask)

See attached screenshot with arrows directed at visual conflicts. The most straightforward fix would be to have the email horizontally fill the message view column without the contrasting padding.

IMG_1768.jpeg

Bottom-right: this corner resize control's right-edge conflict always occurs with a white background email while in dark mode.

Middle-right: while scrolling, the grey scroll bar is visually overwhelmed by the white message background.

Top-right: when a white background mail scrolls beyond the rounded corner mask of the iPad display, there's visually awkward cut-off here as well as the bottom-right corner.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this issue within the Photos app. I'm running Beta 7 on a 12 Pro. When I open Photos, select Collections, then Reorder it will not work. I can select Reorder, but I cannot change the order of items in the list. Is there a trick to doing a reorder that I am missing?

FB19746365 (Welcome screen wallpaper reduced colour depth and resolution)

The iOS and iPadOS 26 animated text ‘welcome’ screen presents a low quality version of my current wallpaper. There’s colour banding in shaded areas and low resolution with aliasing in detailed areas of the wallpaper.

Once I progress to the Home or Lock screen the wallpaper is displayed at full quality.

This issue was present in Developer Beta 6 and now in Developer Beta 7.

I’m finding the interface much less glassy than the previous beta. They increased the blur level behind the transparency, I think, but also not everywhere…so some things are noticeably less glossy, like the lockscreen, widgets and the banners, yet some menu elements are still super glassy like when navigating the photos app. Make it make sense…
