for iOS 26.1 beta 2?

I'm still on iOS 18.7 happy and contented.

Question is: when will Tim push the button. Will there be a delay? Hopefully not.

@winxmac thats fine but join us on iOS 26 with version 26.1. It will be a good version by then, hopefully :)

my Intelligence just intercepted a letter to @Pearsey ...

From: Tim Cook <tim@apple.example>
To: Pearsey <pearsey@example.com>
Subject: A Gentle Request

Dear Pearsey,

I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to reach out personally regarding your… let’s call them “creative correspondences” to Craig.
While Craig truly appreciates enthusiasm from the community, it’s become clear that your letters—especially the ones generated with AI tools—are arriving at a volume and frequency we didn’t quite anticipate. Yesterday, he received a twelve-page sonnet about system preferences, and last week, a screenplay featuring Finder as the main character.
Pearsey, we admire your passion. But I kindly ask that you take a small step back and give Craig’s inbox a chance to recover. Think of it as battery optimization—sometimes less activity means longer overall performance.

Please don’t take this as discouragement; rather, see it as a request for balance. Write to us when you have a genuine insight or feedback—but maybe not when your AI muse feels inspired at 3 a.m.

Warm regards,

Tim

P.S. Siri keeps trying to read your AI letters aloud during our executive meetings. It’s… confusing.

I will say, I do find it quite curious that they released the public beta a couple days after beta 1, and didn't release beta 2 last week. Would it shock me if something is holding up beta 2? It would not. And yes, I know it can be released any time in the next half hour.
