I mean, today most companies work business as usual, so I would assume Apple does as well. So, I wouldn't be surprised if there are releases today.

Something today is viable, but I would think it would be a beta. I still think 26.0.2 is post new hardware announcements. But looking back and assuming AI got this right, we did have public releases in 2021 and 2022 on Columbus Day. So it isn't out of the question that something could release today. But I would give it a low chance.

  • 2021 (Oct 11) — Apple published iOS 15.0.2 / iPadOS 15.0.2 on October 11, 2021.
  • 2022 (Oct 10)iOS 16.0.3 is listed as Released October 10, 2022.

You can argue all you want, but federal offices are closed, the banks are closed and there is no USPS delivery. So, whether or not it's officially designated a "federal holiday", the effect is the same.

Now, with that said, Apple is a private company and it may or many not affect their operations. And since this is an Apple-centric discussion forum, that is what matters. As the posts above have shown, Apple has released betas on Columbus Day in the past. Whether they do today or not is up to Timmy and the magic button.

I’m not sure why people keep saying that Tim “releases the betas.” Maybe you guys just mean Apple in general, but I cringe every time I see comments about “Tim pushing the button.” Let’s be real — he probably doesn’t even know what the current OS version is. lol

Clearly you don't get sarcasm. It's pretty much a MR meme.
