If like most X.2 releases we only get to beta 4 and we are on a weekly schedule already then should we expect a release around the 1st December?
Don’t forget the RC and week of 24th is US thanksgiving. (No beta that week) most likely public release week of December 8th.

Then 26.3 beta 1 drops before holidays.

i forgot about thanksgiving week if we are getting 4 betas then that changes things a little bit

beta 3 next week
beta 4 first week of december
rc 2nd week of december
release 3rd week of december

still in time before the christmas holiday

I think we will have 3 betas. The RC version will drop the first week of December and the public release should be the second week of December. They have to have time to fix any last minute problem.

Why wait for PB, just download the dev one!
We all have different levels of tolerance for risk. Some adventurous souls are willing to accept any bugs that come, as long as they get to be the first to experience all of the new features. On the other end of the spectrum are those who don't do betas at all and won't touch anything earlier than a x.1 release of any software product, on the premise that almost all of the bugs should have been ironed out by that point in the development cycle.

But there are also those of us who fall somewhere in the middle of those two extremes. That's where the public betas come into play.

This beta cycle is turning out to be a bit strange. They released the first public beta the same week as the developer beta, and this week they haven't released the second one, even though they should have. And I haven't noticed any serious bugs or seen any reported issues. It's really odd.

As mentioned before, it's actually not uncommon to see a two week cycle for a .point release.

But that's not the case; the second developer beta arrived a week after the first. The first public beta was released the same week as the first developer beta, and they haven't released the second public beta, which doesn't make sense in my opinion. This has only happened in the past when the developer beta had serious bugs, which isn't the case this time, at least not that I've seen or experienced.

Apple's beta releases are not based on a feel or how well one build runs over another.. They have an internal schedule that they adhere to. They won't just bump up a release because it seems to run ok.

Anyone think we’ll get beta 3 Monday?

Yes, I know we got beta 2 last Wednesday but it’s my understanding it was to address a critical bypass that’s been making the rounds (iPadOS & MacOS being installed on iPhones).

i actually saw the opposite - iOS attempting to install on my iPad - this is funny.
But others will post "I don't have this problem" so it must not be a problem because they're one step away from being God.

To be honest that feedback is just as important as the negative stuff. It can seem unhelpful and snarky if you’re experiencing the issue but it helps others have a little perspective.

It’d be nice if we could have a simple a or b poll on individual posts like this.
