And with a 26.3 RC, people will have their bugs in 26.2 fixed in 26.3 in like a week… 🤷🏼♂️.My observation is that people in this thread favour an RC while those in the iOS 26.2 thread would prefer to have their bugs fixed.

What we need is for them to stop breaking CarPlay every other beta.We don't need that 26.2.1 or 26.3 RC, we need 26.4 beta 1 😉
CarPlay was never broken for me?What we need is for them to stop breaking CarPlay every other beta.
I agree with this. That way no "super secret info on new stuff" will be there to let the cat out of the bag. 🙂If there is new products coming next week maybe they will wait for the RC until them, not to sure, maybe beta 3 today and RC after the event?
Me neither. Never had any issues with CarPlay so far. 🤷🏼♂️CarPlay was never broken for me?
If I recall correctly, the way they’ve handled this before is just adding any of the hardware specific identifiers and such in the finalized public version, and keeping them out of the RC beta. If that makes any sense. The final public version isn’t always exactly the same as the RC beta.I agree with this. That way no "super secret info on new stuff" will be there to let the cat out of the bag. 🙂
26.4 will be an interesting one. Can’t wait to talk about the beta experience here in the forum with you guys 🙂I’m hoping for RC Beta today, so we can move on to 26.4 ASAP! 🙂👍🏻. 26.3 seems to not really have much in the way of surface level changes. 26.4 should be a lot more interesting. 🙂👍🏻
Yeah, if the RC does come today, it just means we are closer to 26.4. Which I am waiting for.Even though I think the RC is likely coming today, I’m not expecting for it or waiting for it. Low expectations as always!

My 2024 Wrangler has both wired and wireless CarPlay. Wired is a mess, luckily wireless works mostly fine.Wired CarPlay is still borked for me, but using a Wireless BlueTooth CarPlay dongle seems to work just fine, minus the audio cutouts from the BlueTooth dropping.. Would be great to get Wired CarPlay working for us again...
I used wired CarPlay in a rental, once, a couple of years ago. I would never buy a car with wired CarPlay, based on that experience; it was the most buggy thing I've ever seen. Wireless CarPlay in my wife's car has nowhere near as many issues.... Would be great to get Wired CarPlay working for us again...
It’s strange how there are so many people having just the opposite of this issue.I used wired CarPlay in a rental, once, a couple of years ago. I would never buy a car with wired CarPlay, based on that experience; it was the most buggy thing I've ever seen. Wireless CarPlay in my wife's car has nowhere near as many issues.
Maybe it was an issue with the entertainment system of that particular brand of car. I've used carplay in at least 3 different vehicles from 3 different manufacturers and never have had an issue. Since I've been on the betas, i've used it in my 2019 Mazda 6 and my friend's 2020 Civic and it has worked flawlessly.I used wired CarPlay in a rental, once, a couple of years ago. I only have wired in my car (2016) and it works great never an issue.I used wired CarPlay in a rental, once, a couple of years ago. I don't remember the specific model -- just that it was a fairly recent Ford, if that tells you anything. What I ended up doing was defaulting back to standard Bluetooth, which worked fine in the Ford.Maybe it was an issue with the entertainment system of that particular brand of car. ...
Yeah, it is going to be interesting since, allegedly, it will be the version that will finally incorporate the first iteration of the new Siri-Intelligence experience (with the help of Google), right?26.4 will be an interesting one. Agree with your speculation about 26.2.1My bet, if you let me speculate, is that at this point we won’t be having any 26.2.1, we’ll have 26.3 RC instead during next week, along with the hardware releases that will come with OS 26.3 preinstalled.
