If we don’t get a new beta today

Each year I think that Beta 3 is still too early for a public beta. So I think they're doing the right thing by waiting for beta 4 (at least) to release the public one. I assume (and hope) we will see more design changes there, before it's released to the public. I like they're being more cautions.

Well, it still did not stop Apple from basing their PB1 on DB3 in previous years and those were not perfect either. Besides, I personally do not know anybody who runs public betas on their Apple devices, so it might be quite a small target group, I guess. The geeks go straight for free DBs nowadays.

However, the fact that Apple have not released it yet is probably a positive sign, as they must have received quite a bit of feedback on their previous betas, so hopefully trying to get it “right” now.
