I would prefer no liquid glass, and just leave it as it is on 18.5I would prefer more liquid glass than it is right now !

I fixed some things on my wife’s phone running 18.5 and I was surprised how dated everything felt.I would prefer no liquid glass, and just leave it as it is on 18.5
Absolutely. I think they’re more prepared now since so many non developers install and then go crazy posting silly critiques on the internet during beta season.I am aware that memory can play tricks, so I am not claiming that this is the pure and utter truth. But the way I remember it, betas used to be way more buggy a few years ago. Especially the early ones. Like installing beta 1 to see what it was like, taking notes on which apps (many) that didnt work and then go back to previous version. Waiting till curiosity got the better of me a few betas later and installed new iOS again.
Banking apps never worked. Auto brightness for some reason always was an early casualty and so many weird cosmetic and functional bugs too.
The past few years I have actually been able to struggle through, more or less, from beta 1.
Well maybe I just remember it wrong. Or perhaps they dont make as huge changes to the core anymore. Donno. But the betas seem more stable to me 🤷♂️
So beta 4 next week alongside pb 1
FWIW, Mark Gurman said the public beta will be around the 24th.
Oops, I meant 23rdStrange, as the 24th falls on a Thursday.
If this happens, it would be the first time I can remember Apple doing something like this. Not only aligning the first public beta with the developer beta 4, but also releasing the first public beta the same week as the developer beta. And I wouldn't understand the need either. Since they're betas, no one can guarantee that beta 4 will be better than beta 3.FWIW, Mark Gurman said the public beta will be around the 23rd.
This would mean beta 4 probably before then. Or at the very least a revised beta, because it would be a good idea for them to release a build with fewer bugs for the public beta testers.
I mean, they seeded the iOS 14 public beta 2 days after beta 2. Beta 2 was July 7, 2020, the first public beta was July 9, 2020.If this happens, it would be the first time I can remember Apple doing something like this. If they really launch the public beta next week, aligning its launch with the 4th developer beta, I think we can already consider that the weekly beta release cycle has begun.I mean, they seeded the iOS 14 public beta 2 days after beta 2. Beta 2 was July 7, 2020, the first public beta was July 9, 2020.
But also, I wouldn't rule out beta 4 coming tomorrow and the first public beta coming exactly one week later. I know that would be unusual this early in the beta process, but they're clearly still making adjustments to the Liquid Glass design. I think we're going to get very frequent beta updates very soon.
Yes, folder reloading happens often in beta 3, even on an iPhone 16 with 8G RAM.I’m thinking the reason it’s longer than normal is because the whole liquid glass issue, they want the public beta to show it like in the keynote. I think next week dev beta 4 will bring it back and then public beta 1
I think we would see some type of Developer beta update first before seeing a public beta at this point. The cadence would be all out of whack if not.Expectation: Public beta today in the next half hour or so.
(A quick look at the last few years, it has always been on a Monday/Tuesday cadence)
Reality: As per Mark Gurman, we are looking at next Tuesday at the earliest.
Seems like it. Dev beta 4 on 21/22. I would peg PB1 on 28/29 unless they want to release a 2 weeks old developer beta build as public beta or just a day or two old one at that point which seems kind of risky.I think we would see some type of Developer beta update first before seeing a public beta at this point. Dev Beta 4 you mean, right?Seems like it. Dev beta 3 on 21/22. I would peg PB1 on 28/29 unless they want to release a 2 weeks old developer beta build as public beta or just a day or two old one at that point which seems kind of risky.
Oh yes, my bad. Edited the post. Thanks for pointing it out.Dev Beta 4 you mean, right?
