I was debating jumping in to iOS 26 with the public beta this week but after seeing the dramatic performance boost of iOS 18.6 RC over iOS 18.5 on my 16 Plus, I’m prob not touching iOS 26 betas.

But will keep following cause I love to see how iOS evolves over time. Looking forward to everyone’s impressions on the public beta this week!

Evolves? I guess if you consider evolution of the phone into a hand warmer then YES. it has definitely evolved into that.

1. Im on Dev Beta 3. Is it overall better to install today/tomorrow Dev Beta 4 or Public Beta 1?

2. Is Public Beta 1 going to be the same as Dev Beta 3?

Beta 3 is the most undecided version of iOS betas in a long while. Glass on some screens, frosting others. Apple needs to stay true to who they are and not listen to opinions of others. Set the direction and go. Add a toggle for those who do not like glass. I like glass. Looks cool and fluid. Now that they toned it down it looks out of place and BLAH.
As already said, it’s a stunning topic and taking part of the beta always contains a lot of ups and downs.
It’s welcome to talk about it, for sure, but I don’t see the urgency like the world is going to end in some comments… as you wrote it’s the developer beta 3. It’s by far not finalised.
Let’s talk about how „blah“ it is and looks later in the development cycle.

It will be BLAH, despite glass or frost. It a bunch of small changes but overall it’s just bunch of reshuffling.

I have put some ideas in another post but there is so much more that iOS can do. One that really puzzles me is not having a simplified mode for elderly.

my parents in law who are pretty good with computers, can never locate the FLIP or SHARE button while using FaceTime. How about the addressing that?

Considering that this is beta 3 going on beta 4, I don’t think any of the new major features will be added.

It isn’t common, public betas most of the time get released one day after the newest dev beta
One day for regular releases and one week for major betas, which is what we’re in right now. Although I admit this year is likely to shake things up.

Sorry sir you’re wrong, dev betas and public betas normally separated by one day at least, I guess we will see later today
