Im putting my money on a beta drop tomorrow that will fix the app icon redraw issue, if not then maybe itll correct once they release the RC without all the beta diagnotstic stuff running in the background.

That’s not all true. The developer beta is not only for Apple to get feedback from users. Developers update their apps during the entire beta process. I’m quite confident to say that 75% of apps are updated right about now… at beta 8. The last few betas has resulted in quite a few app updates the following days

Devs can (and should) update their apps during the beta cycle, but Apple will not approve any app updates built with the iOS 26 Xcode until they call for app updates within the last few days before the GA release. With that said, devs can create fixes based on workarounds with in the current (iOS 18) Xcode and Apple will approve those updates.

The key is which version of Xcode was used to update the app.

As we told you, no beta today and most likely no beta tomorrow or sometime else.
Only one week until the event, relax and wait for the RC

Does Apple still do the Gold Master (GM) release? I could see an RC this week followed by GM just after the iPhone event pn September 9.

Really? Well, I appreciate that info. Thank you!

I will wait for the RC after the Apple Event next week, have a nice sleep if you're in East Asia, lol. GN!
I could be wrong, but I'd bet we'll get RC tomorrow, and probably an RC2 next week. IIRC that happened last year or one of these years.

I'm hoping for a back-end server-side Siri update on-time for the event! (we've been working on this insane AI project coupled with our brand new Apple-quantum google-qbit wafers that generate their own energy on a secret ship that's been orbiting near the ISS)

Hey, I can dream a little..

No! Such thing never happened with a .0-release. The RC usually contains information about new devices and/or yet-to-be-announced features in the code so they NEVER drop it before the event.

I really can recommend that wiki again, here you find all release dates of all beta- and final-releases ever:

As you can see there, iOS 18.0 RC was released on Sept. 9th - the day of the iPhone 16 event. And no RC2.

I don't see any serious errors in beta 8, so I think it's very unlikely that there will be a beta 9. The corrections they make in these weeks will be included in the RC.
