Apple is integrating Apple Intelligence in the Wallet app in iOS 26, with the aim of powering a new package tracking feature. Apple Wallet will be able to automatically scan your emails to find messages from merchants or delivery carriers, and tracking numbers will be added to the Wallet app so you can keep an eye on upcoming deliveries.

Package tracking is already a feature in the Wallet app, but at the current time, it only works with purchases made using Apple Pay. Going forward, you won't need to buy something with Apple Pay for it to show up in the order tracking section of the Wallet app.

If you're running iOS 26, package tracking can be enabled by opening up the Wallet and Apple Pay section of the Settings app, tapping on Apple Pay Defaults, selecting Order Tracking, and toggling on Orders Found in Mail. Note that the feature has a beta label, which means Apple is still working out bugs.

iOS 26 is limited to developers right now, but Apple plans to release a public beta in July. The update will launch to the public in September alongside new iPhone models.

Finally. This should've been done a while ago, and they didn't even need to wait for Apple Intelligence. The clipboard and spotlight has recognized tracking numbers for years now. And just like Safari can take authentications codes from emails, Wallet should've been importing tracking numbers from email.

On macos too hopefully, been using the app Parcel but free would be nicer.

edit: feature not available for me on ios 26? Simply isnt there. Strange

I’m much more on board when Apple make decisions that seem more logical (to me, at least).

Lately Apple have been making some arguably less logical choices – with Food, Recipes & Cooking functionality being baked into Apple News+… They’ve already got a paradigm for other apps being able to draw upon Apple News (see Stocks app), so I’m not sure why there’s no separate Recipes/Cooking app (especially when Invites and Sports get their own app).

And to add parcels to Wallet is just further weirdness when a separate Parcels app would work much better, conceptually.

Doubt it. That'd require the package shipping companies like USPS, FedEx, and UPS to buy into it. But they want you to use their own apps, despite the fact their apps are some of the oldest and least modern apps out there.

This feels like Parcel getting Sherlocked...I'll keep using it because it does such a great job. I recommend it unsparingly, it's amazing, and integrates into amazon directly. Wallet could give them a run for their money, though...
Agree. Parcel is a perfect light-weight app with just the right amount of features. I'll keep using it because it will be easier than digging into wallet.

Came to say this. Parcel is so good (and the developer so responsive) that Apple would have to Sherlock then feature to feature to make me switch. The auto Amazon add and calendar integration is a god send.

I already use the Parcel app for order tracking but I’ll certainly give this a try, if only to save money on an annual subscription.

In my ignorance, I've only just realised Parcel exists! Installed it and added my first expected delivery.

It doesn't work with Royal Mail. :-(

But it does politely tell me and doesn't just say it has failed without explanation.

Yes, Royal Mail blocking tracking of their own parcels just to be petty. Their own app isn’t too bad, though

That's odd - I've never had a problem tracking RM with Parcel. My last RM delivery tracked on Parcel was only last Thursday, and it shows the full tracking info just like any other courier. I subscribe (it's the only app I've ever subscribed to), so I'm not sure if that makes a difference - maybe the dev has to pay for the RM API so he only makes it accessible to paying users?
