I take it back regarding my Automations working.

My time-based automations work perfectly.

My connected to and disconnected from charging stopped working.

I created a new on-charging automation which failed, but the original one started working! So I deleted the new one and the original one failed again.

I created duplicates and deleted the originals, which didn't fix anything.

I toggled the automation off and back on again (clicking the Automations sidebar to show all my automations rather than disabling/re-enabling in the automation/shortcut itself, which I tried and did nothing).

They now seem to be working.

tldr - toggling the automation off and back on again (in the Automations list) may fix broken automations.

“Still”. This is beta 2.
This is what a lot of people running this forget.

You're running a beta/test software. Things aren't going to work properly sometimes. Old bugs are going to resurface. new bugs are going to surface. Apps, Siri, etc etc may not peform as expected or as they did before.

If you cannot understand that then you shouldn't be a beta 'TESTER'.

Can anyone try to explain to me why per app text size is no more since iOS 27?
When you use the control center module in 26 and 18, you can set the size for the entire system or for the current app, right?
Right?

Am I crazy or is the gap between the last row of icons and the dock seem wider now? I cannot remember what it was before, I just feel like there is extra space now.

Log a Feedback.

It's still possible but it's a pita.

You have to go to the bottom of the Accessibility settings, then Per-App Settings, then add the app, then change the text size. It's a massive step backwards.

Do you have duplicates of some shortcuts? Or a 1 added behind them?
So far my experience with shortcuts and automations is pretty bad, some things just not working and the UI change is confusing to me. Previously you could create an automation that runs a shortcut. Now you add automation properties to a shortcut. Not elegant, especially if you want the same shortcut/automation be active by different triggers.

Anyone know how to tell Siri I don't want to write with Siri?

Write to Siri takes over the keyboard for Safari and Messages and therefore prevents access to predictive words that I have used in the past. This forces me to either type out the entire word or tell Siri what I want. I cannot find a way to opt out of write to Siri at this point.

No. Only the ones I created manually to test, then I deleted the originals and renamed the duplicates to remove the "1".

However, automations have changed FUNDAMENTALLY in iOS 27. Not this beta, but the first one. Automations are now just shortcuts with triggers as the first action(s). You can add multiple automation actions, if you want multiple triggers.

I've posted about this before. Automations were given shortcut names, such as "Focus 3" "Charging 2" etc depending on how many of such triggers you had before in the Automations tab. You can rename them to something sensible. Note that they also show as standard shortcuts.

Creating new automations is great - create a new shortcut and add an automation as the first action. If you run the shortcut manually, it skips the automation action/s and runs. They also sync across to all your other devices (with the automation trigger set to "disabled").

Great update apple.......thank you SO much!
All my eve security cams dont work anymore, tried everything but no such luck.
Mail : It now takes between 10 and 15 minutes before a email arrives! IF it arrives at all! Some mails we had to send 3 times. No error code so youre not shure if people get your mail!

If you aren’t a developer that needs to test/update their app for ios 27, don’t install a DEVELOPER BETA and expect it to run perfectly. I’ve got zero pity for non-devs installing it on their daily device and then complaining about bugs in a beta. There is a reason for Apple rolling out the public beta much later when things have matured.

Agree.

Or, if you arent a developer (like myself) but want to try it anyway, understand what you are potentially letting yourself in for.

Are you developing an app and need to run this beta to test and programme your app?

I can't believe Tim Cook successfully pressured you into installing a dev beta.

Shame on you, Timmy.

Not nice!

Please post your feedback IDs for all of these issues you have reported to Apple as part of running this developer beta. Will be useful for other people who may have the same issues.
