Slightly off topic, but I’ve become so used to iOS 27 that I forget how pitifully ugly iOS 26 was.

I’m glad they mostly pulled it together so quickly compared to the things we suffered through when iOS 7 released!
I think you chose a poor example to showcase how pitifully ugly iOS 26 is.

I wish they didn’t rush this. We got a right inconsistent mess with Liquid Glass 27. But it’s fast so never mind.

On these screenshots specifically, I don’t see something that screams a game changer to me. Changes are barely noticeable.
And not necessarily to everyone’s liking.

OS 27 PB1 on iPad Pro M5, but noticed that when wi-fi is off, it still shows the icon, but disabled.

This is not only applied to OS 27 [also applies to OS 26].

Is this an OS bug or an app issue? I always hate watching Twitch or YT due to this

Hard disagree. The iOS 26 example doesn’t even look like glass! Just moon shapes around random icons.

Just had a complete disconnect to all Bluetooth devices. APP2, Amazfit watch. In the Bluetooth settings, all device had disappeared (also the car and other headphones). Turning off and on the phone brought everything back. Just switching Bluetooth off/on didn't help.
I had the same thing happen on my iP17PM. Was listening to music on my Air Pod Pro 2’s while cutting the grass, and have a connection to my Apple Watch and my Dexcom G7 sensor too (so 3 things). Air Pods stopped playing. When I looked at my phone, it said my G7 sensor couldn’t get a reading and to turn BT back on. When I checked the BT page, everything was gone. It said BT was still on, but none of my remembered devices were there. Turning BT off/on did nothing. Had to reboot the phone completely to get everything back.

Did you do a bug report to Apple? I’m about to myself.

You’re correct. iOS 27 looks more like glass that has a cheap privacy film stuck to it. Do you notice how the circle elements look stretched? They can also look elongated depending on what’s behind them. It’s quite the joy to look at when they happen to be above stuff you scroll. Not.

The ui layers can easily become indistinguishable, blending with the content and this is simply bad design. Macrumors does a great job though despite its flat minimal look.
Lemay and crew know better.

Edit: to finish with my tangent I’m gonna share this.
Unfortunately beta 3 didn’t bring any meaningful ui tweaks.

Also, live translations are still an amusing work in progress. Playing this several times I got different results. This provided much needed levity... (I feel like there's a meme in here somewhere)

Specular highlights are not working in light mode currently, because its a beta.

Dark mode & MacOS 27 light mode look great 🙂 iOS will too before September.

Have had a hard crash on a Safari tab twice today when trying to print.
Both times, page displayed, click Action Menu > Print and the crash occurs. Both times it printed the error message.
Once from a .gov site, once from Amazon. I attached the Amazon one.

The printer is attached to my WiFi network.. All other times today it worked just fine.

I did see image capture works a ton better. When I upgraded to iOS 17 or 18 it introduced a new issue where it would show multiple extra files and I'd have a ton of files in finder. When I imported my photos in ios27 it just showed the correct files, only images and videos instead of .aae and other files whenever I took a screenshot in a video or edited a file. Today I imported 2386 photos and I resulted in 2386 files, if it was in iOS 26 it would import like 2984 files.

Is anyone else having this issue with the spotlight search? (Blank Icons) Restarting my device resolves the problem about after a day or 2 it comes back.

I really hope they fix the bug (FB23346832) that one (usually) of my screens is set to near-zero brightness on wake. Using a Sabrent TB4 KVM. Only once has it been both screens. 🙁 Introduced in DB2.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but has anyone had issues with RCS? Ever since this third beta, several times a day RCS will revert to “waiting for activation” and any incoming or outgoing RCS messages won’t go through unless I toggle the RCS setting, which then activates it.

I’ve also noticed that if anyone sends me a photo or video, even an iMessage, my Messages app will either become completely unresponsive for a minute or two before the message arrives OR instead of freezing, outgoing messages will hang. Very frustrating since I have a couple friends who send me a lot of photos! The photos hit my watch first and don’t hit the phone until a couple minutes later.

Edit: oh, beta 4 is out! Hopefully this fixes everything
