Are you downloading the IPSW file from the Apple Developer site?
 
No longer getting Weather Highlights and the weather is all over the place these days, it should have something so say

Suspecting your network dropped halfway the ipsw file downloads, therefore it wasn't recognised as a valid ipsw file

Not yet and I have not done it over the last ten years or so, as I did not have the need with iOS updates usually sorting it out sooner or later. Now that I have reinstalled DB4 with IPSW, I will test it again thoroughly tomorrow over some four hours of driving. If it still acts up, will try removing and reconnecting it to the car. 🖐️

Update: reinstalled DB4 with IPSW (still some dropouts) > removed/re-added the car in CarPlay (still some dropouts) > Force restarted the iPhone (still some dropouts) > tried a different cable (still some dropouts). Guess I am out of solutions at this point with DB4, so submitted the feedback to Apple and will be awaiting DB5.

Update 2: It looks like after all my CarPlay issues were caused by some intermittent issues with the Anker USB A to USB C cable. Yesterday I was driving another car fitted with the same cable, which was bought later and used much less, and had zero dropouts during a long drive. So today I plugged this “good” cable into my usual car (which used to have disconnects) and drove for about three hours with zero dropouts. What is strange, however, is that the “bad” cable had no issues working in my car with an iPhone 15 running iOS 26.5.2, yet would be having lots of dropouts with my iPhone 17 and DB4. Is it possible that iOS 27 feeds more data so my “bad” USB 2.0 cable gets “overloaded” and drops the connection, whereas its younger twin manages to handle it? Anyway, I have now ordered a UGREEN USB 3.0 cable, so it should resolve it.

I updated it last night with IPSW using my MBP 2015 with Monterey. I first downloaded the latest Xcode beta, extracted it and installed the “MobileDevices.pkg” from it. This will allow your computer to recognise your device. Then you download (from Apple) and install the relevant IPSW file for your device. This worked just fine.
 
Hopefully the bug fixes improve stability and battery life, and it’ll be interesting to see how the new changes perform in daily use.

That could have been it. I redownloaded it last night and it seems to be working. I installed iOS 27 directly from 18 and it feels like there are some issues stemming from the direct update. So, for peace of mind, I wanna clean install.

Pretty sure that the grabber only used to appear when Siri was in full screen

Oh! On another note… maybe I missed it awhile ago but Apple Mail Finally allows you to go back to the email list as an option instead of always opening the next!!! I’m so excited. (Prolly someone will tell me it’s been there since iOS 2, but, whatever, I just found it and I’m happy about it)

Only since iOS 26 or 18, I can't remember. But it's something I'd been waiting for since iOS 2!
 
Not sure how long this has been broken (potentially a few years), but you used to be able to select multiple photos to text/email someone and those photos would then send in the exact order that you selected them. Now, no matter what order you select them, they send in chronological order.

iPhone 17p: issues tapping on web elements in Safari. Keyboard mouse causes screen jumping (but not always). YT links (from creator under video) don’t always work (i.e. clicking does nothing). Select/ Highlighting multiple lines is janky. Also, I get that indexing takes awhile, but no progress for 36 hours seems like an issue. I have had full Siri. I came from IOS 26.5.2 straight to this beta.
