It doesn't make sense, having a physical screenlock button because with the multitasking bar, just like in the iPhone, you have a button for screenlock there. It'll be confusing if you could lock both physically and from the multitask bar because the physical button may indicate the screen is locked, while it is actually unlocked from the multitask bar. That is probably why its function was switched to line up with the other iOS devices.

Don't forget to go to apple.com/feedback to let them know you want it a choice or back the way it started.
Please.
Tell your friends to leave feedback too!!! Lol!
It should be user-selectable in the settings. I prefer rotation lock: I can easily mute the device with a 1-second hold of the volume down button.
I do wish that, since they changed the switch to the mute button, they would do away with the 1-second-hold-to-mute feature on the volume button. There are times that I want to turn it all the way down to just a couple of bars, but I don't want to click the volume button (which can be pretty loud in quiet situations) 15 times to do it.

If you can, everyone please voice your opinion toabout iOS 4.2:

See, that's a move I've never managed to master -- when I try to do it, half the time I end up hitting the Home button too slowly, making it react as if I pressed the Home button once.
Do you also have double clicking with a mouse?
I prefer a rotation lock. The holding donwn
the volume button for 2 seconds works fine for me.
Rotation lock for sure.
Is there no way to lock the screen orientation in 4.2 then? Or is it somewhere in the settings? (yawn)
It's done as in the iPhone, in multitasking, it's quite easy!
