What a snore fest today... Nothing revolutionary or ground breaking... And home sharing on Wifi LOCAL network only? How lame... Give us home sharing over 3g so we can play our music any where, besides just at home! What's the point? Oh if I'm rich and I have a mansion and want to play my music anywhere in the house, I guess that makes home sharing awesome... or if I can't afford to buy an airport express adapter for my home stereo and want to use my iphone instead. ;)

Nice! A news story double-post. You don't see that everyday. :D

This is probably the most exciting thing to come out of the event today.

Forgive my ignorance but don't we already have the ability to stream stuff via Home Sharing? I'm a bit confused.

I'm able to stream pics and what not via my mini to my Apple TV now......

So im guessing the iPad 2 pre-order is going to be in a later date or later today

Will it? It says "Order starting March 11 and get free, fast shipping" on Apple.com. Doesn't seem like there's pre-ordering at all.

Someone help here...iTunes sharing. Does that mean if I'm at work, I can access my at home iTunes content or does that mean if I'm at home and sitting on the couch on my home network I can access the content on my computer?

Nevermind, I've figured it out. Well, there went ALL my excitement.

LAME! Who cares to access their stuff at home when you're at home...We want to access it from everywhere else without having to take it home and sync!

Gahhhhhh

You can now stream from your Mac directly to your iPad. So if you have a movie on iTunes on your Mac, you'll be able to watch it on your iPad.

I must have emailed them twenty times pleading for an iPad release of Garageband.

This + iMovie means the only thing I need a workstation for is work.

...and getting files onto the iPad...

Will Garageband and iMovie be available for the original iPad or 2 only? Anyone know?

Hmmm.....I never watch movies on the 'puter. But I get the clarification now. THanks! :)

Steve came out of hiding for THIS?

Really?

It's thinner and faster than last year's, and comes with the cameras it should have had to begin with?

Yeah, a real...game changer?

Sorry, but the most exciting thing announced was the Garage Band app, and that's going to be available for everyone, I think.

So in other words...meh.

Where is the lala.com replacement?

Perhaps the iLife and iWork developers will be allowed to do some Mac OS X development sometime now, instead of letting the products stagnate (or deteriorate, in the case of iPhoto)?

Phtobooth for iPod 4th Gen is cool is guess. Looking forward to a snappier Safari. Not updating until it is Jailbroken though :D

I guess they also took out the multitouch gestures for the iPad??

The multitouch gestures were never going to be released in iOS 4.3

You obviously missed the part where Apple reported to developers that they were a preview, and not for release in 4.3

THough they could at times be glitchy, they were quite nice.
I could be 99% silent when I bed-surfed (not even a home button click here and tehre).
I'll miss them when I finally upgrade to 4.3 GM.

That is what iOS5 is for :D

I think that is when we will see the move to shifting to the server farm and playing your own stored library from the cloud. Apple's product cycle is perfect for dribbling out features/enhancements at critical points during the year to keep competitors on their heels.

They just release the iPad with nice improvements. to some they seem minimal. But the key is the new A5 Chip and dual core. This is the foundation. Its the iOS that makes the difference. With the processing and graphics bump it opens the door to other things, that could not be done on iPad1 or possibly even the current iPhone. Thus, keeps the competitors again many steps behind. iPhone 5 will no doubt have the A5 chip as well.

You can see with additions in iOS4.3 for airplay and homesharing that they are gearing up for wireless streaming. Part A, is to use it locally, then Part B, open it up to the cloud. Its a natural progression. Hopefully though iOS5 will be avail to the iPad in June/July and not have to wait until Aug or Sept to get it in the iPad.

The rumors I have read regarding an iPad 3 in Sept seem unfounded. I don't see Apple refreshing the iPad that soon. Can't see them breaking the 1 year cycle. What I can see is refreshing and updating the iOS quicker and thus give a new release of features in Sept to expand the functionality to the device.

- iTunes Home Sharing - allows iOS 4.3 users to play music, movies and TV shows on an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch® from their iTunes library on a Mac® or PC over a local Wi-Fi network.

Am I missing something? I already do this using the Remote app.

-Edit- Nevermind.
