I've not heard any comments about safari being any faster from people on the 4.3 beta. Is it not included yet until the GM?

Also extremely disappointed we heard nothing about iOS 5.

Am I missing something? I already do this using the Remote app.

Yes, with this, you watch the movie on your ipad without syncing it from itunes (you stream it instead). It lets your ipad and iphone act like the apple tv currently does.

switch?

do we get the mute/lock switch preference on iphone 4? I want this!

I was hoping for iOS 5 preview today. God i hope they sort out notifications. If they don't in the next update, i'm outta here.

iTunes Home Sharing is exactly what I was after! 64gb is a paltry amount of storage for an iPod that does music, video, photos AND apps. Just tried updating Dungeon Defenders today 'Your iPod is full'. Great! Time to remove some more media .

So a few questions...

1. What are the specs for the screen? (Resolution, Viewing Angles, etc)

2. What are the specs for the cameras? (Resolution, Autofocus, Flash, etc)

3. Does that 3G capability make this a "world" device? (Both CDMA and GSM in all frequencies?)

Oops... out of battery power on my 2010 MBP 13".

Agreed ... full library sharing across all of our devices is just huge

A nice evolutionary update, but as most have said nothing really ground-breaking. All of the 'wow' is really in the software and is more device agnostic. Apple's making iMovie and GB be limited to the iPad 2 to drive sales, but I'm guessing it's a matter of time before someone figures out a way around that.

Will I upgrade? Maybe, depending on how much I can get for my used iPad. but honestly it would be to have the 'latest' instead of anything else. There's no features in the hardware update that I need. Everything is in the software.

I have a VZW iPhone so no 4.3 goodness for me yet, but I use the iPad at home and not the iPhone anyway, so no big deal.

Doesnt look like this for Garageband.

Nope there is no info on that anywhere. My guess is its iPad 2 only - the page its on is a promo for iPad 2 after all (iMovie existed before iPad 2 so the disclaimer there makes sense). I don't see how Garageband for iPad could run on iPad 1's specs...

All I wanted from this update was wifi-sync. I guess that's too much to ask. Time for another jailbreak.

I've had it for almost a year. Except mine works over the internet, including 3G, too, not just local WiFi.
It's called Air Video. $3 in the app store.

I store no video locally.

Uh...but of what use is it if you can only access it from your HOME network?

Or am I missing something?

I'm sure cloud sharing may come eventually, but for a multi-user home with a bunch of iOS devices this feature of Home Sharing will be SO appreciated!

Having access to an entire 100gb library on an 8gb Touch will be awesome for this insomniac :)

Did anyone see the fine print on the leather covers on www.apple.com?

"The leather Smart Cover is crafted from high-quality, naturally treated material that gets its color from a rich aniline dye. Some color may rub off during use."

Stay tuned for LeatherGate starting March 11...

Remote app does not let you play music or movies on your iPhone - lets you control itunes/steam etc.
If you combine it with Airfoil Speakers, you can. But that naturally means first starting Airfoil on your iOS device, then opening Airfoil on your Mac and select your iOS device, and then start the Remote app.

Someone help here...iTunes sharing. Does that mean if I'm at work, I can access my at home iTunes content or does that mean if I'm at home and sitting on the couch on my home network I can access the content on my computer?

yes if you are on your couch and you hate watching tv on your hdtv or listening to music on your stereo you can watch or listen to it on your ipad from your home computer iTunes library.

That's because it's only faster on the new one with the faster cpu/gpu.

AT least that's what I was thinking when they said it was twice as fast. Sure because the cpu/gpu are at least twice as fast.
