BUG:

Just recently every time after I delete something from my e-Mail it comes up with an error message stating that it cannot be moved at this time. This does this every time!

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem but let me know. I have 2 Exchange Accounts activated and one regular email.

There is no custom dictionary as was released in the beta.

My email keeps freezing too.

iCAL

iCAL on the iphone has changed, the colours and boxes for items are slightly different but what I have noticed is that if you put the calendar into LIST mode the scrolling isn't smooth anymore. It's a little jumpy almost as if each "day title" it making it do this.

Other than that it seems very good, very smooth (apart from iCal) and fast

Still wish they'd fix messages to allow you to hide the keyboard!

iPod not compatible with car stereo

My car stereo no longer can read the integrated iPod nor any other sound. It does however still charge my iPhone. Kind of annoying. Not sure what apple changed to make it incompatible :(

BUG: Have placed and received calls and the screen goes black when I put it up to my ear and never returns to the phone app (stays black when I move away from my ear). Am unable to do anything with the phone app, given this is first and foremost a phone, that is kinda big for me!

Add Japanese Keyboard to See User Dictionary

There is no custom dictionary as was released in the beta.

My email keeps freezing too.

If you add a Japanese (may work with other languages, but didn't for me) keyboard, the Edit User Dictionary option appears under the keyboard settings. Hopefully they will fix soon.

No Contacts Notes Search?!

Pre-iPhone, I had smartphones that could search notes. This OS still cannot search notes WITHIN the contacts.

E.g., You met Bob Smith at the networking party. He's a good contact, but you don't really know him yet, so in the notes, you put "networking party." Later, you can't recall his name, but you know you met him at the networking party. You use that as a search term via spotlight, but it doesn't search notes in contacts, so you're stuck until and unless the name pops back into your head.

My workaround has been to enter that info inappropriately as a company or create an actual note in the Notes app -- both ways are not preferred for me. I prefer to be able to search notes within contacts, and would expect this update to allow that.

It seems to be an issue with scrolling in general, not just iCal; the initial list shown on entry to Settings is nothing short of horrible.

When adding a picture as an attachment to an email, aren't I suppose to have the option to select what size I want to send the picture? Small-medium-large- and full size?

I've been using iOS 4 for ~3 weeks now.

As far as bugs, iOS 4 is definitely less stable than previous releases, I couldn't pcik out specific things.

HOWEVER: my impression overall is that iOS 4 is sloppy and unApple. It had me with the novelty of the new OS animations for the first few days, but now I'm just wondering what they were thinking:

-The multitask bar? So every app that I ever open just get added to this to make an infinitely long line of icons? And I'm not saying that I've narrowed it down to being the exact reason, but my iPhone has seemed to start slowing down dramatically when I have accrued a ton of icons in the multitask tray. And then it instantly gets faster when I remove all of them. Which is an annoying process that I shouldn't have to do regularly.

-Folders only have one icon possible? (the black box with the mini-icons inside). This is stupid. I have (and I want to have) 5 folders on my homepage with categorized apps in them. So now I have 5 identical-looking icons and I have to go around reading their titles to figure out where my apps might be. TERRIBLE, frustrating system. Why not have some default folder icon choices and let users load their own? A "media apps folder" icon? A "game apps folder" icon? A "utilities app folder" icon? Would this be so freaking hard? Could I possibly remove the impenetrable black squares and have something a little less frustrating to use?

-no customizable backgrounds for 3G users? It doesn't even affect me but its such egregious *******ness that I just feel bad for iPhone 3G users. The idea that they couldn't get the iOS 4 features that are on the 3G on the original iPhone is pretty much BS too, considering that its the same exact hardware as the iPhone 3G with maybe a 15% lower clock speed. It should still be able to run the new email client. It has only been three years. Yes, there's the argument that Apple has to be able to stop supporting old products at some time, but don't get sassy with me Apple fanboys its only been three freakin years and most companies support their products longer than that and they would at least support them if they were supporting an internally identical product (iPhone 3G) which had the same CPU and GPU architecture and the same amount of RAM.

Other than that, yeah, besides it being less stable than my last OS 3 version, it seems pretty good. I like the threaded email conversations, I like the idea of folders even if they need to get some folder icon choices up there STAT, and obviously I like the idea of app pausing and the other multitasking implementations that they're running. No apps support them yet so I have yet to see, for example, how Skype handles accepting calls when it is in the background.

My father-in-law has a birthday today and was born in 1931. His birthday does not show up in the Birthdays calendar.
If I change it to 1932 it doesn't work but 1933 does

I've reported it to Apple

Does anyone know how to change the colour of the birthday calendar on iPhone? Can't seem to find out if we can.

The icons kept disappearing every time I swiped between different home screens, but a reboot seems to have fixed it.

When typing in Safari, the text randomly gets bigger, which makes things a lot more tedious.

If I want to sync new photos onto the phone, I have to sync it twice to kick it into updating the library on the phone so it actually shows the new photos.

I've found a few that I didn't see listed here:

Messages: Don't always zoom properly - like, if you tap in the typing field, it should zoom to the bottom of the conversation, but this doesn't always happen. Kind of frustrating.

Album View: In the new "album view," all the small album art thumbnails are blurry. None of my other pictures are affected anywhere.

iPod/Sleep: When I'm listening to music with the phone sleeping, it randomly wakes itself up every 15-20 minutes, as if I have a notification, but there's nothing there. Goes back to sleep after a few seconds.

iOS4 crash when using the phone

Since upgrading to iOS4, everytime I am on the phone after about 10 minutes the phone crashes to the apple logo. Has anyone else had this annoying problem? Using an iPhone 3GS. Thanks.

I've noticed I'm having major problems with my blueant Q1 headset after upgrading to 4.0

It never stays connected anymore and I always used to be able to hear the phone system sounds like, locking/unlocking, dialing numbers, text and email notifications.

Has anyone else experienced any similar problems?? Or have any suggestions...I've already tried "forgetting" the device and repairing it with the phone.

Thanks in advance guys and gals!

I am having a very buggy experience with Mail on the iOS4 GM on iPhone 3GS, I have 5 email accounts and Mail is either crashing, or worse, resetting my iPhone! The iPod on the iPhone has crashed a few times too. I've been an iPhone owner for over two years and neither of these apps have ever crashed before.

The amount of 3rd party apps that won't even launch is a surprise and those that do, a good few of them crash randomly. Including heavy hitters like Linkedin. I hope this will be fixed with updates over the coming weeks.

Not to mention that I'm also having significant issues with loss mobile phone reception too, 3G and Edge not as good as they were and battery life is being zapped by iOS4 too.

As for multitasking, you just end up with 20 apps in the taskbar by the end of the day. Exiting apps has not become a chore (holding down button, apps wobble, click close), why we can't just flick them to close is strange.

Overall I think Apple aren't ready with iOS4 just yet, and if this GM is the same version released in two weeks time expect widespread issues.

iTunes 9.2 has issues too, especially with ordering App through it for your iPhone screen. I was able to create 3 Settings app icons, just not working as well as it did before Folders.

Are you having the same issues with mail on the official release or still if you are on GM? Did you figure out a fix? I am having the exact same issue and no matter what I try and do mail is consistently crashing. I have deleted my accounts, added them back, reset the network settings, etc. to no avail. I can only open the mail app for roughly 2 seconds and it crashes! This is very annoying and to add to it I am currently in a boot cycle due to MyWi, so may have to restore and hopefully that takes care of the mail issue at the same time...

One major gripe I have with ios4 is the inability to lock in landscape. I don't see why they would implement portrait lock, which in my opinion is far less useful than landscape lock.
